Abtract
Adaptive Educational Hypermedia System (AEHS) authoring tools system is define as a system
tools that have the capability in helping teachers or educators in the development of the
automated Adaptive Educational Hypermedia System in easy and optimum skills of technical
and programming part. This tool provides the shell for the development of Adaptive Educational
Hypermedia System and can be a good option because this kind of authoring tool is free and can
be modified or improve according to the user requirements. However, the existence AEHS
authoring tools system are lack in their capability of providing the users with the system
adaptivity which can be referred as how the system is make an adjustment to their output to each
of their individual learners in learning environment in an adaptive manner. The capability of
the system in providing system adaptivity is depends on the adaptation strategies applied in the
system. The standardize design of adaptation strategies for AEHS authoring tools are important
in order to provide the system tools with the capability of generating the automated adaptive
online lesson course to accommodate the diverse types of learners with individual differences in
learning. Thus this research proposed the adaptation strategies as a mechanism that consist the
basic guidelines of methods and rules for AEHS authoring tools in the development of AEHS.
The adaptation strategies covered the mechanism for the system tools in the (i) creation of
adaptive lesson course structure; (ii) selection appropriate learning material and resource for
adaptive lesson course and (iii) adaptive presentation of the tailored adaptive lesson course
content and material during the learning session. The evaluation on the proposed adaptation
strategies guidelines also has been conducted in order to measures the capability of the system
in providing the system adaptivity to the users.

Abstract

  • 1. Abtract Adaptive Educational Hypermedia System (AEHS) authoring tools system is define as a system tools that have the capability in helping teachers or educators in the development of the automated Adaptive Educational Hypermedia System in easy and optimum skills of technical and programming part. This tool provides the shell for the development of Adaptive Educational Hypermedia System and can be a good option because this kind of authoring tool is free and can be modified or improve according to the user requirements. However, the existence AEHS authoring tools system are lack in their capability of providing the users with the system adaptivity which can be referred as how the system is make an adjustment to their output to each of their individual learners in learning environment in an adaptive manner. The capability of the system in providing system adaptivity is depends on the adaptation strategies applied in the system. The standardize design of adaptation strategies for AEHS authoring tools are important in order to provide the system tools with the capability of generating the automated adaptive online lesson course to accommodate the diverse types of learners with individual differences in learning. Thus this research proposed the adaptation strategies as a mechanism that consist the basic guidelines of methods and rules for AEHS authoring tools in the development of AEHS. The adaptation strategies covered the mechanism for the system tools in the (i) creation of adaptive lesson course structure; (ii) selection appropriate learning material and resource for adaptive lesson course and (iii) adaptive presentation of the tailored adaptive lesson course content and material during the learning session. The evaluation on the proposed adaptation strategies guidelines also has been conducted in order to measures the capability of the system in providing the system adaptivity to the users.
