This study examined factors affecting the mathematics performance of 126 high school students at Laguna State Polytechnic University during the 2009-2010 academic year. The researcher used a questionnaire to determine the extent to which student-related factors like interest and study habits, and teacher-related factors like personality, teaching skills, and instructional materials impacted mathematics performance. Results showed no significant relationship between student performance and student-related or teacher-related factors. The researcher recommended further focused studies on the relationship between these factors and performance.
