TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS IN THE
NEW AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
IN MATHEMATICS: A CORRELATION

Researchers
Teacher have a huge effect on their students’ academic and life performance, according to
the study. However, tittle is known about the particular aspect of teaching practice the
explain these relationships or whether the results vary between academic and non-
cognitive outcomes.
In turn, there has been a wide variety of research conducted on the relationship between
teacher quality and student achievement. While teacher quality measure varies from study-
to-study (Hanushek, 1998, Heck,2007, Rockoff,2004), These quality measurements are often
framed around teacher effect, teacher experience, teacher qualifications, teacher
certification, teacher education, Teacher’s preparation program. And teacher evaluations
scores. The results Of their studies have reported mixed and inclusive results, so the
additional consideration into the relationship between teacher quality and student’s
achievement is warranted . (Douglas Oliver Bird) However, the effectiveness of teaching in
the new normal is also of our basis in this study and the academic performance in
mathematics students.”
The following specific objectives are:
1. Determine the degree of teaching effectiveness of math
teachers;
2. To identify the impact of teaching effectiveness to the
grades of math students;
3. To determine the effect of teaching effectiveness in the
new normal to the academic performance of
mathematics students.
Ho: There is a significant relationship
between the Teaching effectiveness in the New
normal and Academic Performance in Mathematics.
Ha: There is no significant relationship
between the Teaching effectiveness in the New
normal and Academic Performance in Mathematics.
The related literatures and studies focused
on the;
• Teaching effectiveness and the academic
performance in mathematics.
• A teacher’s personal theory of teaching and learning influence
how a teacher delivers instructions (Cross, 2009; Fives and
bicehl, 2014; Patchen and Crowford, 2021; Stenhagen, 2011).
• Personal theories of teaching and learning are complex
because there are many factors that influence them
(Stenhagen,
2011).
• Driscoll (2000) defines learning as “ a persisting change in
human performance or performance potential, which must
come about as a result of the learner’s interaction with the
world.
