This thesis analyzes the oral literature of the Manuvo people in Siagao Island, Philippines. It identifies common folk songs, ritual songs, and stories that are still shared in the community to understand their themes, symbols, and cultural values. The study uses narratology and literary approaches like formalism and mimesis to interpret the oral traditions. It finds that the oral literature reflects the Manuvos' language, culture, and traditions, influencing their way of life. The study aims to preserve these oratures for future generations and contribute to pedagogy.
