About Us
HEALING HEARTS OF FAMILIES USA MINISTRIES INC is located in DeKalb County Georgia it
was organized in 2000. We received our official tax exempt status in 2005 after the IRS advance ruling.
We are organized to provide services to single mothers and their families during a time when there was a
significant increase of mothers the primary caregivers to children were going to prison for not cooperating
in drug conspiracy. These cases were leaving young children to be cared for by relatives or causing more
children to be place in foster homes.
The emotional trauma related to the parent's absence along with the trauma of having to relocate
sometimes making various relocations before the parent is released and reunited cause a significant
increase in children with abandonment and bonding issues. The increase in women going to prison also
increased the number of youth having a first encounter with the juvenile system because of unruly and
delinquent behaviors due to their instability and lack of attachment due to parental absence.
During this time, Healing Hearts of Families was organized to support children and the caregivers in
absence of the parents and parents wanting stabilization. We found through research that most women
that go to prison have a prior history of sexual abuse or domestic violence.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help families find solutions for children to live in homes and communities
which are healthy whole and stable.
How We Do It
We partner with families, communities and stakeholders to provide family stabilization services
for children. Through various approaches of advocacy, support, outreach, counseling, and using
a team approach to strengthen families and promote family stabilization and parental self-
sufficiency.

stability and growth of children and our youth deserve attention, care, communication, and love

community.

Our Services
PROMOTES CHILD HEALTH
Our Purpose:
Promotes healthy lifestyle choices for at-risk youth, young adults, and families in between the
times it is proven that delinquent behaviors and illegal activities occur.
Our goal is to support education and social development and raise awareness through prevention or
intervention programs that target negative involvement which declines the quality of life and
sustainability of our families, businesses and communities.
We help children in Be-Tween the time a child is suspended from school for one day or more the effect
on the family is a decrease in family income. Single parent stress less, when the parent has to take off
from work to supervise the child or the child is left at home unsupervised for a period of one day up to
two weeks or more, they can become involved in more delinquent behaviors. We provide mentoring,
nontraditional education learning activities and discipline all day for suspended youth allowing the
parents to continue their employment and family routine.
We prevent these risks within the community by offering a host of services that
bring peace to the community and comfort to parents while they are at work.
Youth Discipline Academy (Summer)
An integrated 3 or 12 week program that provides extensive discipline training for youth. The
participants develop discipline through military and athletic-style physical fitness and students
receive training on how to respond to and respect authority figures in their lives even when they
disagree with the interaction of the adult. Our overall goal is to improve social development,
timing to respond, getting adult support in difficult interactions with other adults, teaching youth
responsibility to self, family, and the community. *3 weeks (Suspended Youth)
