New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

CONNECTINGYOUR BUSINESS TO THE TECHNOLOGY
RESOURCESYOUNEED
ABOT will be investing through its Zollaris Laboratories Corp into the joint
venture almost 2 million dollars. This investment is only for the first 100
hectares of land. Once the processing laboratory is created and functional,
seeding and security will be the only expenses attached to the balance of the
land. The security will be created by a frost aluminum fence at the peripheral
of the land with drones and military men to ensure the sight will not be at risk.
8. CUSTOM SOLUTIONS
Usually the terrain will inspire the solution to a problem. At ABOT we use
our know-how to tailor the solution to the problem while maintaining
an environ-mental balance.
SCIENCE SOLUTIONS
ABOT is constantly researching and developing new scientific processes.
This is what differen-tiates ABOT from other compa-nies: our relentlessness
to ad-vancement and innovation. We are constantly seeking partner-ships
with research institutes and universities.
BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
At ABOT we believe that most business solutions are to join forces,
therefore joining forces with other companies and insti-tutes is a primordial.
9. Our product is known as “bio-oil.” The planned trade name of our bio-oil
product line is “ABOT-Inside.” We have a licensing agreement in place with
a Canadian company, Lux Biologics Ltd (“Lux Bio”), there-by accessing the
formula of raw materials we plan to use for produc-tion of our bio-oil through
corporate laboratory tests in the research and development (“R&D”) program
conducted with Lux Bio. Bio-oil is a component of biodiesel and many other
products such as table oils and oil extracts for medicinal purposes. Bio-oil
“products” range from – skincare products formulated to help improve the
appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone – to numerous
medical us-es of CBD (cannabidiol) bio-oils; used by more and more people
as time goes on. Our products containing CBD will not be marketed in the
United States.
ABOTInsideand Diesel
Through the License Agreement, we have secured the formula of raw materials
we plan to use for production of our bio-oil through corpo-rate laboratory tests
in the research and development (“R&D”) pro-gram conducted with Lux Bio.
Bio-oil is a component of biodiesel. Our plan is to manufacture crude bio-oil
in fermenters and provide “feed stock” bio-oil to biodiesel companies. We use
most of our biofuel to create electrical power plants to supply remote areas
with electricity for homes and industries.
ABOTInside Cosmeticsand Pharmaceutical
Our plan is to manufacture crude bio-oil in fermenters and provide “feed
stock” bio-oil to biodiesel companies and other users of bio-oil. That same
technology can be used to ferment the carbon molecule linked to specific
plants to create a new generation of oils that stem from the reaction of the
yeast or enzymes with the stock carbon mole-cules from the plant species.
ABOT plans, assuming available fund-ing, to acquire presses to extract oils
from plants and seeds and will have oils that will be destined for the table,
the mechanical industry or health medical field.
10. AGRICULTURAL
BUSINESS
Agricultural fermenters will be manufactured, in-stalled and utilized to ferment
our lipid production (the process of producing our bio-oil) or ethanol. Lipids
are a group of naturally occurring molecules that include fats, waxes, sterols,
fat-soluble vita-mins (such as vitamins A, D, E, and K), mono-glycerides,
diglycerides, triglycerides, phospholip-ids, and others.
The raw materials for our bio-oil are carbon biode-gradable molecules.
We plan to obtain the raw ma-terials from residue from the transformation
of oil into biofuels and other bio-oil products and from any agricultural
byproducts that will be tested for carbon biodegradable molecules for
the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry.
