Abdul Sattar Edhi was a renowned Pakistani humanitarian and philanthropist who built a nationwide network of humanitarian centers offering services from "cradle to grave". He founded the Edhi Foundation and established Pakistan's largest ambulance service, shelters for women and children, orphanages, and free medical clinics. Edhi received over 250 national and international awards for his humanitarian work helping Pakistan's poor and destitute, including the Lenin Peace Prize and Nishan-e-Imtiaz. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 88 due to kidney failure.

8. Date of birth : “28 February
1928” at “Bantva in
Gujrat,British India” into a
memon family.
When he was eleven, his mother
become paralyzed from a stroke
and she died when he was
nineteen.
After partition his family migrate
to Pakistan. settled in Karachi.
In 1957, from the donation of
memon businessman, he
purchase a van it is an
ambulance “poor man’s van”
After a few years he established
a free dispensary. Later a
welfare trust “Edhi Trust”.
9. In “1965” Edhi married
“Bilquis” Pakistan versions
of “Mother Teresa”.
She is also a social worker.
They had four children, two
daughters & two sons.

12. On “25 June 2013” Edhi’s
kidneys failed. It was
announced that he would be
on dialysis for the rest of his
life unless he found a kidney
donor.
Edhi died on “8 July 2016” at
the age of 88 due to kidney
failure.
His last wishes included the
request that his organs were
be donate but due to illness,
only his corneas were suitable.
He was laid to rest at the
“Edhi village Karachi”.
