2. TWO NATION THEORY:
• Definition: The two-nation theory is the basis
of the creation of Pakistan. The two-nation
theory in its simplest way means that cultural,
political, religious, economic and social
dissimilarities between the two major
communities, Hindus and Muslims of the
Subcontinent.
4. Differences between Hindu & Muslims
• Religion: Both communities followed different
religion. Muslim belief in Islam and oneness of
Allah but Hindus belief in Hinduism.
• Language: Muslim speaks Urdu as a basic
means of communication & Hindu speaks
Hindi which was written in Devanagri script.
• Culture: both communities differ in their
social life,their cloths, foods, moral values,
ethics and norms are totally different.
5. Sir Syed Ahmed khan & two nation
theory:
Sir Syed Ahmed khan was the founder of two
nation theory.
He was the first person who used the term “two
nation theory "due to Hindi Urdu Controversy in
Banaras in 1867.
According to Sir Syed Ahmed khan Muslims are a
separate nation in every respect because their
civilization, language, customs and philosophy of
life are different from those of Hindus
6. Allama Mhummad Iqbal & Two nation
theory:
• Allama Muhammad Iqbal presented the idea
of a separate sate for Muslims in 1930 at
Allahabad. He said
• “The Muslims would not allowed that their
religious, Political and Social rights are
usurped. Therefore, I would like to see the
Punjab, North West Frontier Province, Sindh
and Baluchistan put together into a single
state.”
7. Chaudhary Rehmat Ali & Two Nation
Theory:
• Chaudhary Rehmat Ali believed that the
Muslims are a nation that is different from
other nations living in India.
• He Published ‘Now or Never’ in 1933. In this
pamphlet, the name of the separate state for
the Muslim was proposed.
• He also suggested the name of new sate
“Pakistan”
8. Quaid e Azam & Two nation theory
• Quaid e Azam was a Firm advocate of two nation
theory.
• He gave Muslims the status of a separate nation
in every respect. He said “Musalmans are a
nation according to any definition of a nation,
and they must have their home land, their
territory and their state”
• In 23rd march 1940, Pakistan resolution was
passed and according to the resolution its was
decoded that the final solution of Hindu Muslim
problem is separation of India
9. Two nation theory and Pakistan
• Conclusions:
Islamic ideology is the philosophy underlying
the Two Nations theory. Pakistan is a state
founded on ideological basis and not on the
territorial grounds. The Two Nations theory
became a reality with distinct ideology called
Pakistan ideology. Pakistan ideology is the cause
of creation of the country, the driving force of
her existence and also the destiny of the people.
