Floating column rest on the beam, means the beam which support the column is act as a foundation. That beam is called as transfer beam. This is widely used in high storied buildings which are used for both commercial and residential purpose. This helps to alter the plan of the top floors to our convenience. The transfer beam that support floating column will be designed with more reinforcement. Analysis of Tunnel Form Building Retrofitted with CFRP using Finite Element M...ijtsrd
Many regions where have the earthquake risk around the world, many buildings in developing countries are ineffective in front of earthquake forces. Recent years, the fabrics which are strengthening with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer CFRP have become a very common material to strengthen the reinforced concrete buildings. In our country, mostly column jacketing and partition systems are used. They are also followed with steel jacketing and trussed steel joist systems. Reinforcement with composites named FRP fiber-reinforced polymer are getting common slowly by slowly in our country. Since fibers are high-tensile steel, they increase the strength of joist and covering deflection. If it is used in the direction of tensile, it also saves the strength for shearing. In this study,1 mm CFRP hardware is applied to the each covering of a 16-floor reinforced concrete building which is made with tunnel formwork system. In this analysis done with SAP2000 program, increase in the frequency of a reinforced concrete building is observed structure which has less in cycle is appeared. BEHAVIOUR OF RC MULTI-STOREY FRAMED BUILDINGS WITH WIDE THIN COLUMNSIAEME Publication
Reinforced concrete (RC) framed buildings consist of several vertical load bearing members (columns and walls). The structural engineers have a tendency to model all vertical load bearing members as columns irrespective of their aspect ratio (breadth to thickness ratio). While using commercially available software package, if the structural walls (wide thin columns) are also modelled as columns, undesirable amount of longitudinal reinforcing steel becomes necessary. Hence a comparison has been made to study the savings in longitudinal reinforcing steel if the walls are modelled as surface elements (area elements) instead of line element. The incorrect modelling may lead to shear failure of beams during earthquakes which will trigger the collapse of building in an unexpected manner. It may cause loss of life. In this work, a typical symmetric RC building has been considered to study its behaviour, if the vertical load bearing members are modelled as surface/line elements. From the study it is concluded that attention should be paid while modelling the vertical load bearing members based on their aspect ratio. The effect of force distribution, time period, base shear and amount of reinforcement is studied in detail
Parametric Evaluation of Tall Structure with Various Lateral Load Resisting S...ijtsrd
The high rise buildings are majorly suffering with seismic forces, it can be found out by displacement parameter. The more the displacement the lesser will be the stiffness of the structure. The static analysis is having higher displacement value than response spectrum analysis. The increase in percentage is about 17 . This will increase the construction cost due to increase in stiffness. The base shear value increases with increase in weight of the structure. However, the diagrid structure seems to be having lesser weight than all other models. From the overall analysis it is proved that, diagrid structure is very much effective than any other structure. However, in case of constraint in providing diagrid due to its architectural features, the outrigger system with bracing will be very much effective. Dynamic Study of Parabolic Cylindrical Shell A Parametric Studyijtsrd
The shell structures are composed of a thin shell made of reinforced concrete without the use of interior columns giving an open on the inside. Most general shells used in manufacturing industries are flat plates and domes but different shapes like cylindrical, parabolic or spherical section may also used. Storage facilities and Games arena buildings are common concrete shell structures. On the other hand, they can be complicated to design, as the exact shape necessary for stability of structure depends on the material used, the size of the shell, exterior or interior loading, and other oblique. So by varying the parameter of the shell, performance of the shell is also varying. Main objective of this paper is parametric analysis of the various cylindrical shell structures with different lengths. For analysis we took two different lengths of cylindrical shell and then, two parameters have been vary first one is radius and second is thickness, on the basis of different radius and thickness for same chord width, length, and material of shell we will evaluate the behaviour of shell for different models. Finite element analysis and parametric study of curved concrete box girder us...eSAT Journals
Abstract The horizontally curved bridges are becoming the norm of highway interchanges and urban expressways as a result of complicated geometrics, limited rights of way, and traffic mitigation. This type of superstructure has gained popularity because it addresses the needs of transportation engineering. A study of box girder curved in plan with rectangular cross-section has been carried out in the present investigation. The finite element software ABAQUS is used to carryout analysis of these box girders. The analysis is carried out for the dead load, super imposed dead load and live load of IRC Class A loading. The paper presents a parametric study of curved box girders by varying span and radius of curvature and by keeping the span to depth ratio constant. The parametric investigations performed on curved box girders helps to evaluate the effects of different parameters on the behavior of the girder. This study would enable bridge engineers to better understand the behavior of curved concrete box girders. Key Words: Curved concrete box girder, ABAQUS

Analysis and Design of Box Underpass Bridge Using Softwareijtsrd
In the last few decades, there has been an enormous increase in traffic volume on highways due to population growth and rapid urbanization. To maintain traffic flow, numerous new highways and flyovers have been built. As part of the modern world, bridge construction has come to be considered of international importance. It provides passage over obstructions without closing off the path below. Recent technological advancements have made conventional bridges obsolete. Innovative and cost effective structural systems have replaced conventional bridges. These days, box type bridges are becoming more popular in modern highway systems, including urban interchanges, because of their efficient dispersal of congested traffic, their economic considerations, and their aesthetic appeal. The structures have many advantages that are useful in freeway and bridge construction, including structural efficiency, serviceability. Seismic Performance of RC Frame Building with Different Position of Shear Wallijtsrd
An earthquake force is a very strange force and behaves quite differently than Gravity and Wind loads, striking the weakest spot in the whole three dimensional structure. It’s not earthquake that kills, in fact ignorance in design and poor quality construction results in many weaknesses in the structure that cause serious damage to life and property. Masonry Infill are frequently used to fill the gap between the vertical and horizontal resisting elements of the building frames with the assumption that these in fills will not take part in resisting any kind of load either axial or lateral. Hence, its significance in the analysis is generally neglected by the designer. In fact, infill wall and shear wall considerably enhance the rigidity and strength of the frame structure. Various researches suggest that the bare frame has comparatively lesser stiffness and strength than the infill frame and frame with shear wall, therefore their ignorance cause failure of many multistorey buildings when subjected to seismic loads. In the present study, the finite element analysis of RC frame models viz. a bare frame a frame with shear wall considering infill a bare frame with shear wall has been carried out and the number of storeys vary as G 3, G 5, G 7 and G 9. Linear analysis of all RC frame structures has been performed as per IS 1893 Part 1 2002 and IS 456 2000. In this study only in plane stiffness of masonry wall has been considered and infill panels modelled as equivalent diagonal strut elements. The behaviour of buildings subjected to Gravity and Seismic loads with the help of Response Spectrum Analysis using FEM based software and the effect on Time Period, Mass Participation factor, and Storey Drift has been observed. Strength and Rigidity of RC bare frame structures is found increasing after the inclusion of infill panels and shear wall. Comparative Evaluation Of Reinforced Concrete, Steel And Composite Structures...IJERA Editor
Steel-concrete composite construction has gained wide acceptance all over the world as an alternative for pure steel and pure concrete construction. However this approach is a new concept for construction industry. R.C.C are no longer economical because of their increased dead load, hazardous formwork. The present study deals with comparison of reinforced concrete, steel and composite structures under the effect of static and dynamic loads. The results of this work show that composite structures are best suited for high rise buildings compared to that of steel and reinforced concrete structures. Response spectrum method is used for comparison of three structures with the help of ETABS software.
The best way to evaluate a functioning go kart would be testing its performance under various conditions and points. Therefore, a new go kart called Mech Tech initial was presented in this report. Mech Tech initial was constructed based on the common go kart size found in the market but with slight difference in the frame design. Mech Tech initials chassis was built using steel pipes, bent and welded together, with consideration to the position, braking system, steering system, seat position and many more. Other go karts components such as engine, seat, steering wheel, brake system, bumper and wheels are mounted to chassis to test the performance. The chassis dimensions were taken for further testing and future reference. Among the tests applied are weight distribution on each wheel, and 17 degree method. Srinivasa Reddy | N. Comparative Study of Diagrid Structures with Conventional Frame StructuresIJERA Editor
In modern age, the decrease of available free land and increase of land prices along with the wide spread of
urban area has made architects and engineers to develop the cities vertically. For vertical growth, the only option
is to construct the buildings as high as possible. It is a task of a structural designer to make the desired building
stand and stable throughout its life. There are various structural systems for tall buildings, among them diagrid
system is selected for this work. Diagrid is an exterior structural system which resists the lateral forces by axial
actions of diagonals provided in periphery. Statistical analysis of tall buildings in India is carried out and
presented for buildings having height more than 150 m or 40 storeys. Parametric study and detailed comparison
of diagrid structural system with respect to conventional frame is carried out for symmetrical buildings. In this
study seven steel buildings of identical base area and loadings with different heights are designed for optimum
sections for both structural systems diagrid and conventional frame in ETABS. Various parameters like
fundamental time period, maximum top storey lateral displacement, maximum base shear, steel weight,
percentage differences in change of steel weight, maximum storey displacement and maximum storey drift are
considered in this study. A Diagrid structure performs well than conventional frame structures and increase in
steel weight with increase in height of building is considerably less in diagrid structures.
Design Optimization of Reinforced Concrete Slabs Using Various Optimization T...ijtsrd
This paper presents Reinforced Concrete RC slab design optimization technique for finding the best design parameters that satisfy the project requirements both in terms of strength and serviceability criteria while keeping the overall construction cost to a minimum. In this paper four different types of RC slab design named as simply supported slab, one end continuous slab, both end continuous slab and cantilever slab are optimized using three different metaheuristic optimization algorithms named as Genetic Algorithms GA , Particle Swarm Optimization PSO and Gray Wolf Optimization GWO . The slabs with various end conditions are formulated according to the ACI code. The formulated problem contains three optimization variables, the thickness of the slab, steel bar diameter, and bar spacing while objective involves the minimization of overall cost of the structure which includes the cost of concrete, cost of reinforcement and the constraints involves the design requirement and ACI codes limit. The proposed method is developed using MATLAB. Finally, to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm the results are compared with the previously proposed algorithms. The comparison of results shows that the proposed method provides a significant improvement over the previously proposed algorithms. Dynamic Response of Rcc and Composite Structure with Brb Frame Subjected To S...IJERA Editor
Concrete structures impart more seismic weight and less deflection whereas Steel structures instruct more
deflections and ductility to the structure, which is beneficial in resisting earthquake forces. Composite
Construction combines the better properties of both steel and concrete. Buckling restrained braced frames
(BRBFs) are primarily used as seismic-force resisting systems for buildings in seismically-active regions. The
objective of the present work is to compare a twenty storied RCC and composite framed structure with BRB
frame subjected to Seismic and different Temperatureloadings using Non-Linear Time History Analysis. Three
dimensional modeling and analysis of the structure is carried out with the help of SAP-2000 v16 software. It is
observed that the storey displacements were decreased by 36% for twenty storey RCC building and for
composite buildings it was decreased by 45% for twenty storeys suggesting the effectiveness of Buckling
restrained brace frame. The overall results suggested that BRB were excellent seismic control device for
composite building as the roof displacement is reduced by 40% but whereas for RCC it is reduced only by 25%.
For Seismic prone areas composite building with BRB frame is more effective. Under Temperature loading
RCC building is more effective than composite structure.

Design and Analysis of Different Shapes of 50 Storeys High Rise Building unde...ijtsrd
As we are moving towards the modern world, we are facing many problems and increasing population is one of the biggest problems and to provide land is another challenge because of the limited natural land. So, to resolve this problem we have to drop the plan of horizontal building design instead of we have to built the high rise building. I am going to design the 50 storey’s high rise building of different shapes for which I have selected the shape, they are Rectangular, Square, Triangular, Circular, Elliptical .and for designing I am designing these all shape of building for constant Area, Column size, Beam Size, Slab thickness. After the designing work completion, the different loads were applied on the Structure the loads are Seismic Load, Wind Load, Live Load, Dead Load. The main purpose of this work is to determine the most stable and workable shape of the high rise building in most critical seismic zone i.e., zone v and under the most critical wind zone i.e. zone v. and to check the stress of the building of different shapes. Analysis of 3 Dimensional Building Frame Considering Outrigger and Hexagrid T...ijtsrd
The advancement of high strength underlying materials just as the presentation of dominating improvement strategies gave a lift in the advancement of tall constructions. As the tallness of the design builds, they become logically defenseless against wind load and seismic force. The resistance of tall designs to lateral loads is the central determinant in the detailing of new fundamental underlying systems that create by the steady undertakings of primary specialists to continue expanding the structure tallness while keeping the diversion inside commendable places of imprisonment and restricting the proportion of materials. In this proposed work a logical review will be consider on such frameworks like outrigger framework with center shear divider and hex lattice frameworks, to decide their primary productivity in moving the horizontal loads securely to the ground.A correlation of outrigger framework with center shear divider and a hex matrix framework was made on a 15 story building built up substantial structure by utilizing standard bundle ETABS by looking at changed boundaries like Maximum Story Displacement, Maximum Story Drift, Forces, Moment and Story Shear. Design of a High Rise Structure on an Oblique Ground Taking Earthquake Resist...ijtsrd
The study of straightforward 2 D frames with different floor heights and different numbers of bays using the widely used software programme STAAD Pro. The maximum axial force, maximum shear force, maximum bending moment, maximum tensile force, and maximum compressive stress created for the frames on plain ground and sloping ground were compared using a variety of graphs using the analytical findings. The graphs that were used to compare the two situations and the in depth analysis of the SHORT COLOUMN EFFECT Rejection was carried up. Additionally, a thorough examination of seismology was conducted, and the viability of the intended software tool was also examined. Numerous projects of this nature have been completed on this subject in the past, but the analysis was often done for static loads, such as dead load, live load, etc. To this, earthquake analysis or seismic analysis has to be included. Two identical kinds of constructions, one on level ground and the other on a sloping ground, were examined in order to develop technical expertise. The outcomes were then contrasted. Finally, a manually planned structure on sloping land would be evaluated for all feasible load combinations according to IS 456 and IS 1893 and IS 13920. Structural Building and Cost Optimization with Different Floor Systemijtsrd
The analysis is a technique for determining the ways of a structure under various load combination. Design is the procedure of achieving convenient description for a structure. It takes a long time to manually plan and analyse a structure. The goal of any structural design process is to produce a safe design that meets all the design codes requirements, while trying to minimize the cost of the design. Until recently, this process was based on the judgment of the designer. Optimization in structural design is a recent concept that has been introduced and used in the last couple of decades to find the optimum designs based is more accurate compared to human judgment. Then it is applied to the design of the whole structure, considering seismic load. The model resulted in savings of 6.7 9 for the slab optimization compared to the original design, and 8.5 for the high rise structure optimization, compared to the original design. For high rise structures, these savings mean hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is the start of a new structural design software era, where the whole structural design is performed using inclusive software that guarantees minimum time and cost for a structurally sound design. This paper discusses various optimization techniques and applies them to real world cases like reinforced concrete structures in virtual environment. The study includes survey of structural optimization principles, procedures, software tools available for structural design and analysis. Further, it discusses about the optimization of multi storey reinforced concrete structures RCC building structure using structural analysis software like STAAD PRO. Effect of Friction Dampers on RC Structures Subjected to Earthquakeijtsrd
Among all the natural disasters such as flood, earthquake, drought, hurricanes the least understood and the most destructive one is earthquake. Since, they cause many of injuries and economical losses leaving behind a series of signs of panic. Necessity to implement seismic codes in building design. For this a better method of analysis such as static analysis, dynamic analysis and time history analysis has to be adopted for performing the structures seismic risk assessment. This dissertation work is concerned with the "Studies on Effect of Friction Dampers on the Seismic Performance of RC G 15 Storey Buildings" According to IS 1893 part 1 2002 codal provisions the structures are analyzed by Equivalent Static method and Time History method. Design and Analysis of Pre Cast Box Segment using Limit State Method Manually...ijtsrd
A level crossing or a grade crossing is a place where a railway line and a road intersect each other at the same level. In the Urban areas generally the level crossings are monitored by qualified railway staffs that monitor the train movement and close the level crossing gate to stop the interfering road traffic but such closing of gates leads to traffic jam in roads, causes loss of time to the road users and in some cases also leads to an accident. The best alternatives to eliminate the level crossing are Road under Bridge RUB and Road over Bridge ROB . There are 3 main methods of construction of road under bridge. Box pushing technique, Cut and cover method, rolling technique using RH girder. In this paper a design of Road under Bridge or Subway by Box Pushing Method is presented. The design is carried out as per Indian standards, particularly Indian railways standards, IRS Bridge Rules , IRS Code of Practice for design of substructures and foundations of Bridges. The Impact of Digital Media on the Decentralization of Power and the Erosion ...ijtsrd
The impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has gained considerable attention in recent years. The adoption of digital technologies and the internet has resulted in declining influence and power for traditional gatekeepers such as publishing houses and news organizations. Simultaneously, digital media has facilitated the emergence of new voices and players in the media industry. Digital medias impact on power decentralization and gatekeeper erosion is visible in several ways. One significant aspect is the democratization of information, which enables anyone with an internet connection to publish and share content globally, leading to citizen journalism and bypassing traditional gatekeepers. Another aspect is the disruption of conventional media industry business models, as traditional organizations struggle to adjust to the decrease in advertising revenue and the rise of digital platforms. Alternative business models, such as subscription models and crowdfunding, have become more prevalent, leading to the emergence of new players. Overall, the impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has brought about significant changes in the media landscape and the way information is shared. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Sustainable Energy by Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Sadikuijtsrd
Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Concepts for Sudan Survey Act Implementations Executive Regulations and Stand...ijtsrd
This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. The paper will also highlight the current situation in Sudan, the degree to which survey standards are used, the problems encountered, and the errors that arise from not using the standards and survey specifications. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
