Flue gas desulfurization gypsum (FGDG) is an industrial by-product generated during the flue gas desulfurization process in coal-fired power plants.
Due to its abundance of chemical and physical properties, FGDG has been used in reclamation of saline-sodic soils.
In the recent developments of flue gas desulfurization processes, the “modern” FGDG contains lesser amounts of heavy metals, thus increasing its efficiency and beneficial value.
PHYSIOLOGY BEHIND WATER USE EFFICIENCY IN PLANTS
Water security is the foundation of food security, as water shortage will directly lead to
fluctuation of food production. Thus, improving plant water use efficiency (WUE) has
become a major goal for the near future. WUE is defined as the ratio of biomass
accumulation, expressed as carbon dioxide assimilation, total crop biomass or crop grain
yield to water consumed, expressed as transpiration, evapotranspiration, or total water input
to the system. By nature of water input WUE can be either Field WUE or Crop WUE. It is
possible to increase WUE in a field without increasing water supply by altering the
mechanisms that control WUE in plants. The field WUE depends upon edaphic factors such
as soil mositure content, texture etc., whereas, crop WUE depends upon the architecture of
plants parts such as leaf, stem, root, stomatal factors, hormones etc. Crop WUE is
predominantly driven by hydraulic properties, such as stomatal conductance and anatomy of
the water transport pathway, or factors that regulate those hydraulic properties, such as
stomatal density, stomatal pore size etc. Owing to architectural governance of WUE by
plants, there are many potential genes and their interaction involved during development and
under water-limited conditions. Improving WUE at different scales is an important pathway
to combat the global water shortage and ensuring food supply, which requires both
understanding the physiological mechanisms of crops responding and adapting to water
deficit, and innovating field water management technologies. Both the water use strategy and
integrative approach should be developed based on physiological mechanisms of crop
responding to water deficit, crop life water requirements, precision irrigation water
management according to real-time monitoring of crop responses.

- 2. Group Discussion is a process where exchange of ideas and oponion are debated upon. It is a modern method to judge students personality and their ability.
- 3. This process is mostly used for selecting candidates for admission to management schools basically for MBA and Banking. The group will have 8 to 12 members who will express their views ideas freely, frankly in a friendly manner. Within in a time limit 20 to 30 minutes, their ability are measured.
- 4. Topic given by panelists. Planning and preparation. Knowledge with self-confidence. Communication skill will be strong. Body language and personal appearance. Being cool and careful.
- 5. Subject matter is essential. Choose magazines that are rich in content. Be aware of topics that are repeated. Work on your communication skill. Listen to the topic given during group discission.
- 6. Stimulation of thinking in anew way. Expansion of knowledge. Understanding of your strength and weakness. Academic knowledge. team work. General knowledge.
