The paper presents a design for a rectangular microstrip patch antenna aimed at improving bandwidth for ISM band applications, utilizing a partial ground plane strategy. The proposed antenna achieves a bandwidth of 0.1465 GHz, significantly higher than the 0.0827 GHz of a conventional design, making it suitable for various wireless communication standards including Bluetooth and WiMAX. The design uses low-cost FR-4 substrate and operates at a frequency of 2.45 GHz, demonstrating improved impedance matching and gain.
