picking the low hanging
fruits and solving the
problems asked (visible) by
stakeholders. Prove your
value.
With the new background and supporters
You will be able to make BIG CHANGES
Don’t try to do everything by yourself
Find resources, delegate, prioritize
Be the HUB for all UX Design issues
Not the “I do it all” dude or the “designer”
Learning no 5
Delegate the basic tasks
and focus on what will
have the bigger impact on
the final product success.

After launching the new shinny product
Make sure your role is recognized
Find ways to measure your impact
Ideally by proving a really good ROI

The success proved on a
project will help you gain
trust and credibility faster
(if not already existing) on
other projects.
Don’t underestimate the
value of a proved UXD
Some projects can be like this
Glorious and rewarding
Others can end like this
Failing against all the perfect odds
Learning no 7 (and the last)
Be involved and dedicated to your
project but NEVER GET
EMMOTIONALLY ATTACHED to
it.
Otherwise you will start
demotivated, willing to use the old
ideas and these will lower your
success chances on the next
project.
1. Be involved in the project from the first
stages
2. Try to solve the cause of the problems not to
design over them – big changes will save
later efforts
3. Build trust and credibility
4. Sell UX Design value to stake holders by
picking the low hanging fruits, prove the
impact you can have
5. Focus on important things, delegate the rest.
Don’t try to do everything perfect, by yourself.
6. Monetize the success, show the value you

  • 4. Learning no 1: Always fight to be involved in the project (as UX Designer not as Designer) from the beginning.
  • 5. But accept that in the real word

  • 7. Learning no 2: When facing big issues find ways to change the things in the right direction, from scratch.
  • 8. So, I deconstructed the entire project

  • 12. Learning no 3 Build trust and credibility. Start by finding allies, supporters and UXD enthusiasts in the project. Or…
  • 13. Forget the big plans for a while And get your hands dirty with basic UX tasks
  • 14. Quickly solve the most obvious UX problems Make the stakeholders happy and prove your value
  • 15. Learning no 4 Build trust and credibility by picking the low hanging fruits and solving the problems asked (visible) by stakeholders. Prove your value.
  • 16. With the new background and supporters You will be able to make BIG CHANGES
  • 17. Don’t try to do everything by yourself Find resources, delegate, prioritize
  • 18. Be the HUB for all UX Design issues Not the “I do it all” dude or the “designer”
  • 19. Learning no 5 Delegate the basic tasks and focus on what will have the bigger impact on the final product success. (Not only the User Experience!)
  • 20. After launching the new shinny product Make sure your role is recognized
  • 21. Find ways to measure your impact Ideally by proving a really good ROI
  • 22. Learning no 6 The success proved on a project will help you gain trust and credibility faster (if not already existing) on other projects. Don’t underestimate the value of a proved UXD
  • 23. Some projects can be like this Glorious and rewarding
  • 24. Others can end like this Failing against all the perfect odds
  • 25. Learning no 7 (and the last) Be involved and dedicated to your project but NEVER GET EMMOTIONALLY ATTACHED to it. Otherwise you will start demotivated, willing to use the old ideas and these will lower your success chances on the next project.
  • 26. 1. Be involved in the project from the first stages 2. Try to solve the cause of the problems not to design over them – big changes will save later efforts 3. Build trust and credibility 4. Sell UX Design value to stake holders by picking the low hanging fruits, prove the impact you can have 5. Focus on important things, delegate the rest.
