A Healthy Self Image We ask ourselves 3 questions How do I look? (Appearance) How am I doing? (Performance) How important am I? (Importance) If we get a positive answer to these questions We will have a positive self image
A Healthy Self Image Appearance How do I look to others? We form opinions of ourselves  based on how others see us. People spend money on clothes,  cosmetics, beauty aides, cosmetic surgery, dieting, weight watching, body building etc
A Healthy Self Image Performance How am I doing? We form opinions of ourselves based on how we compare to others, and our successes & failures We have to ‘prove’ our worth by becoming performance orientated
A Healthy Self Image Importance How important am I to others? How important am I to self? How important am I to God? This is related to our status. We try To get into a position of power – Then we feel better about ourselves And accepted by others
