SELF IMAGE

1.Self-Concept is a thought, idea or something conceived in the mind.
Its more of an overarching construct than self-image.
2. In a sense self-concept is a component that makes up self-image{ Mcleod 2008}
Positive image: would influence the way a person sees and think about themselves. It can motivate them to set goals and work towards achieving it.
Negative image: Image can certainly influence your self-image;
a negative mind would be accompanied by negative behavior and thoughts.
: how a person evaluates his or her appearance
: how a person evaluates his or her personality
: how a person evaluates his or her intelligence
how a person evaluates his or her social and technical skills
how a person evaluates his or her values and principles
: how a person feels he or she fits into society’s masculine/feminine norms (Oltmann, 2014)
Having a distorted self-image means that you have a view of yourself that is not based in reality.
We all have slight variations and detachments from reality—maybe we think we’re a bit thinner or heavier than we really are.
