Effect of Strategic Partner Practice on Supply Chain Performance in Tea Firms...journal ijrtem
Abstract: Strategic partner relationship is a critical issue for any business, especially in supply chain activities. Therefore, it is expected that firms that deliver e-procurement system in the supply chain are likely to strengthen their partner relationship. The purpose of this study was to establish the influence of strategic partnership management practice on supply chain performance in tea firms in Kenya. The study was guided mainly by Resource Based Theory. Explanatory research design was adopted. The target population was 4200 respondents from 12 tea firms. Purposive and proportional sampling was used to select a sample size of 365 respondents comprising of staff, top management and suppliers. Questionnaires and structured interviews were used to collect primary data. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and linear regressions were used to test strength of the relationship between variables. The strategic partnership practice positively influences the supply chain performance among the tea firms[r=.535, n=231, p<.05]. The regression model indicated that strategic partnership practice account for 28.7% variation on supply chain performance. Hence tea firms enhanced strategic partnership practice purposely to improve supply chain performance by widening supplier relationships among the stakeholders. Tea firms should therefore embrace sound partnership practices to enhance firms’ supply chain performance which in turn lead to profit maximization.

In recent years, management and, consequently, supply chain performance measurement, has attracted the attention of a large number of managers and researchers in the field of production and operations management. In parallel with the evolution of organizations from a single approach to a network and supply chain approach, performance measurement systems have also changed and moved towards network and supply chain performance measurement. Therefore, in order to face the storm of great change and transformation and not give in to the wave of competitive aggression, organizations have long had one thing in common, and that is to focus approaches and focus efforts towards achieving results. Results that lead to a competitive advantage and are more effective and decisive in the performance indicators of the organization, including earning more. In this study, in order to identify and prioritize the factors affecting the supply chain in manufacturing companies, using indicators such as cost, timely delivery and procurement time to evaluate the supply chain efficiency is considered. And performance evaluation was performed at the manufacturer level. Therefore, in order to evaluate the performance of the supply chain using the AHP integration approach and the DEA method approach in the fuzzy environment, the suppliers and suppliers of the manufacturing company were evaluated and ranked in terms of performance.
Green supply chain management in Indian Electronics & Telecommunication IndustryIJESM JOURNAL
The study investigates the Green Supply Chain Management practices adopted by the Electronics & Telecommunication Industry in India. Study focuses on the impact of environmental collaboration in the supply chain on manufacturing and environmental performance. This paper used inductive and qualitative approaches to explore the salient factors that simultaneously enhance the “greening the supply chain” as well as maximizing the customer reach while maintaining the efficiency of the supply chain system of Electronics & Telecommunication Industry. A survey was conducted with key informants across many divisions of the Electronics & Telecommunication Industry to investigate how well these environmental and customer reach in the supply chain are in synchronized with the top management’s commitment towards environmental responsiveness and maximizing customer orientation. The responses to the survey were statistically analyzed and a relationship model was constructed with Market orientation as the dependent variable and independent variables as: environmental policies, supplier policies, commitment to human capital and diversity, sustainability and market orientation. The paper proposes to measure the performance of the corporation with respect to greening the supply chain, maximizing the reach of consumers and operational efficiency with a view of re-engineering the existing supply chain. The key indicators identified were environmental policies, supplier policies, sustainability, market orientation and commitment to human capital and diversity.
Success in supply begins with the right choice of suppliers and in the long run is directly related to how suppliers are managed, because suppliers have a significant impact on the success or failure of a company. Multi-criteria decisions are approaches that deal with ranking and selecting one or more suppliers from a set of suppliers. Multi-criteria decisions provide an effective framework for comparing suppliers based on the evaluation of different criteria. The present research is applied based on the purpose and descriptive-survey based on the nature and method of the research. In the present study, two library and field methods have been used to collect information. According to the objectives of this study, suppliers will be evaluated using two methods of fuzzy hierarchical analysis with D-numbers. In order to better understand these two methods, a case study is presented in which suppliers are ranked using two methods and then the results are compared with each other. For manufacturing companies, 4 categories of parts were considered and based on the classification, the suppliers of the manufacturing company were evaluated and analyzed. In the results of suppliers of type A and B components in hierarchical analysis, D and fuzzy methods have many differences in the evaluation and ranking of suppliers, and this shows the lack of expectations of experts in D and fuzzy analysis. On the other hand, in type C and D components, the classification and ranking of suppliers have been matched in two ways and shows that the opinions in the evaluation of these suppliers are the same.

Determinants of Supply Chain Performance of Indian Manufacturing OrganizationsWaqas Tariq
This paper aims at proposing various determinants of supply chain performance of Indian manufacturing organizations. The determinants are summarized based on extensive literature review of empirical research articles on supply chain management (SCM) and performance measurement approaches. This study is a part of a larger research project exploring SC related practices. A critical analysis is carried out so as to identify research gaps in context of performance measurement of supply chains, as well as to propose directions for future research. A conceptual model is also proposed. Critical investigation of selected articles led to an idea that there can be significant effect of selected variables on SC Performance. It is to be seen that how various parameters, taken from the literature review, affect SC performance and ultimately contributing to its competitiveness. The various parameters like supplier-buyer relations, external supply chain, environmental factors, human metrics, information sharing and performance measurement approaches are taken in a single study in the context of Indian manufacturing organizations. Based on a pilot study with sample size of 100, empirical tests resulted in reduction of items. Based on the obtained results, the organizations can enhance the SCM performance by improving the current practices/strategies through focusing on the determinants that significantly influence SCM performance. Further research can be carried out by using data of various supply chains of other sectors and industries of India to generalize the research.
The Simulation of the Supply Chain in an Investment Company by Genetic Algori...Mohammad Ali Arjamfekr
Nowadays, the supply chain is considered as the most effective element among the economic and manufacturing enterprises and the reason of its foundation is the increase of the pressures by the customer demands on high quality and quick service. Time management in the supply chain causes quick service and the enhancement of customers’ satisfaction level that is the most important component for managing waiting reduction time. After the selection of the suitable supplier, the amount of optimal order of each one of the suppliers must be obtained, implementing using the multi-objective planning models. Thus the purpose of this study is to investigate the simulation of the supply chain in an investment company by genetic algorithm and PSO. This work is done using the multi-objective model design, with the purposes of reducing existing costs in chain, as well as maximizing the purchased materials’ quality from the suppliers.
There is an increasing trend in competition on the global market and this has compelled many manufacturing and service companies to revise their understanding of quality. Customers today make informed choices and patronize products and services based on their quality. There are also regulations which are established by government agencies to ensure that products and services are of expected quality that satisfies the needs of the customer. This demand from customers has triggered a need for manufacturing companies to always provide quality products to stay in competition. Provision of quality products has a cost element attached to it. The study was a case study and focused on the assessment of cost of quality and its effect on manufacturing performance. There have been several researches that have shown the relevance of cost of quality assessment in a manufacturing firm. This research looks at cost of quality with specific emphasis on the classical P-A-F (Prevention-Appraisal-Failure) cost model and tries to ascertain its effects on manufacturing performance. The study focused on Special Ice Company Limited as a case study. The study employed three categories namely, cost of prevention, cost of appraisal and cost of failure as a proxy for cost of quality on the manufacturing performance. A sample of 80 participants was randomly selected for this study. Primary data was collected and analyzed. The findings show that the cost of quality element like cost of external failure and cost of appraisal had a statistically significant impact on the manufacturing performance of the company. A semi-structured interview was also conducted with the Manager Director to further understand the posturing of the top management with regards to the study. The study recommended that the organization make a conscious effort to sensitize employees to understand the cost of quality and its implications on the manufacturing performance of the company and also appraise their production processes at all times and ensure their entire staff adhere to accepted procedures. Again, the study also recommended that top management get actively involved and make a conscious effort to incorporate the cost of quality in their decision-making process and get all staff to align and adhere to it and also pay close attention to customer complaints act on it to improve on the products.

Supply Chain Management: Improving Process Efficiency and Effectiveness
Introduction
Companies are now supporting their supply chain strategies with the focus on being in driving transformation and realizing true competitive advantage. A company’s supply chain is supposed to be robust enough to enable it withstand the changing local, environmental, and social demands while remaining agile enough to enable it react to market shifts. In today’s environment, business managers are demanding more from their changing supply chains with their focus on competitive advantage. Such changes in expectations force supply chain leaders to focus more on the whole value chain. The trends involved in improving process efficiency and effectiveness in supply chain management include:
Improving strategic decision-making processes
The many decision-making agents together along with supply chain means that understanding and evaluating the dynamic behavior is very important. Application of a generic approach to modeling the supply chain dynamics is essential in the distribution processes (Gattorna, 2010). Both the physical processes which include primary and secondary manufacturing warehousing and distribution and the business processes should be modeled. The focus is how decisions are made at different nodes of the supply chain, who makes them, what methods or tools are used, among other factors (Coyle, Langley, Gibson, Novack & Bardi, 2013). The main aim of such an approach should be to replicate and integrate the behavior of supply chain in software. The logic or system of software tools used in decision-making at different nodes and systems are replicated in the simulation tool. Such an approach creates a non-invasive improvement in the operations of supply chain. These improvements are enhanced through changes in different parameters such as safety shocks or various business processes such as relationships between agents.
The current nature of process technology should incorporate agile equipment’s to shorten the process cycle times by a degree of magnitude and require little time for changeover (Chopra & Meindl, 2007). Such a move would avoid long processes and operations and lead to more responsive supply chain. The underlying operations will be triggered to change with the focus shifting to designing processes that will operate at intrinsic rates and not being limited by tools or equipment performance of traditional equipment’s. Processes and operations should be designed with greater emphasis on mechanistic understanding and be controlled tightly if significant reductions in the quality control activities are to be realized (Bowersox, Closs & Cooper, 2013). Development of integrated models of life-cycle retrieved from discovery consumption greatly facilitates strategic decisi.

The study adopted a descriptive survey research design, in which both stratified and simple random sampling techniques were utilized in selecting the participants for the study. This study used a sample of 60 employees and management representatives. Questionnaire, interview schedule and document analysis were be used to collect data. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistical technique that included frequencies, percentages and means. Findings of the study found out that 53.3% of organisation performance was influenced by the four determinants studied in the research. Results on coefficient of variation showed that a unit change in supply chain infrastructure would affect organisation performance by (0.14β1), resource sharing (0.062β2), information flow (0.457β3) and organisation linkage (0.215β4). All the four determinants looked in this research were found to have positive influence; supply chain infrastructure (r=0.505), resource sharing (r=0.567), information flow (r=0.705) and organisation linkage (r=0.322) on organisation performance. The study recommends that ICT should be fully integrated and utilised in sharing information between the organisation and partner in the supply chain management, information systems and flow need to be enhanced to ensure that the suppliers and customers receive it on time.
Globalization and managing across cultures and borders make the business sense of efficient supply chain management more challenging than ever before. The demand and supply chain can now be as long or as short as the distance between suppliers and consumers who have critical influence on the value chain. This is important because the demand and supply chain processes often have profound effect on productivity levels of the organization. The exploratory research design was deployed for the investigation to gauge the effect of supply chain management on productivity. Through regression analysis it was found that for a 1 percent increase in supply chain management productivity increases by 1.88 percent. Organizations around the globe are getting increasingly concerned about the process with which their goods and services reach the ultimate consumer or customer. It is believed that an effective and efficient supply chain management is the corner stone for customer satisfaction, and to this extent, supply chain management is an important topic in business and management today. According to Chase, et al (2001) the critical idea of supply chain management is to apply a total system approach to managing the entire flow of information, materials and services from raw materials suppliers, through factories and warehouses to the end customer. They posit that the idea of supply chain management comes from a picture of how organizations are linked together as a particular company. Such linkage is typically between suppliers that provide inputs, manufacturing and service support operations that transform the inputs into products and services, and the distribution and local service providers that localize the products. They argue that localization can involve just the delivery of the products or some other processes that tailors the products or services to the needs of the local markets and customers. Enterprises have come to realize that achieving significant competitive advantage depends to a great extent on the way they configure and manage their supply chain operations. Stevenson (2002) states that a supply chain is a sequence of organizations – their facilities, functions, and activities that are involved in producing and delivering a product or service. According to him, the sequence begins with basic suppliers of raw materials and extends all the way to the final customer. Basic facilities in supply chain management include warehouses, factories, processing centres, distribution centres, retail outlets, and offices. On the other hand, the major activities in supply chain management include forecasting, purchasing, scheduling, production, distribution, delivery, and customer service (Copacino, 1997, Marshall, 1997, Handfield, et al, 1999). Stevenson (2002) elaborates that supply chains are sometimes referred to as value chains; a term that reflects the concept that value is added as goods and services progress through the chain supply or value chains
Effect of Supply Chain Management Practices on Organizational Performance of ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of supply chain management practices on the
performance of Kenya’s state corporations. The study adopted a descriptive research design. A total of 142
parastatals were targeted from which 15 of them were selected to participate in the study. Purposive sampling
was used to select two senior managers from each of the 15 parastatals. These respondents were selected from
the finance and procurement departments. Questionnaires were used to collect primary data from the state
corporations. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the study. Inferential statistics conducted
were regression analyses. Results indicated that outsourcing practices (p=0.205>0.05) have a negative but
insignificant effect on organizational performance. On the other hand, inventory management practices
(p=0.006<0.05), lean practices (p=0.006<0.05), and strategic supplier relationship management practices
(p=0.001<0.05) all have a positive and significant effect on the performance of state corporations.

Supply Chain Efficiency Evaluation: A Contemporary Theoretical ModelWorld-Academic Journal
Supply chain management has gained a prodigious amount of attention from both practitioners and industriessince the last decade. Until now, there are many articles, and dissertations that address supply chain management, but there is still a lack of integration between the current efficiency evaluation methods and practical requisites for the supply chain management. A contemporary efficiency evaluation method is proposed to provide necessary support for efficiency improvement in supply chain management. The proposed method will address this aim in the following main aspects: a basic supply chain model; concrete and unconcrete efficiency measurement in various dimensions; a cross-organizational efficiency evaluation; and weighted average and fuzzy set theory method.

This paper is the first in a series of publications aimed at provoking thought and discourse on issues relating to “Winner-Takes-All” politics in Ghana. It discusses winner-takes-all as an electoral formula and situates it within the context of winner-takes-all politics in Ghana. It highlights the dangers of Ghana’s winner-takes-all politics such as the marginalization of perceived political opponents and the feeling of exclusion from the governance process by those who do not belong to the government/ruling party. The paper argues further that winner-takes-all politics undermines the quest for national development, cohesion and the drive towards democratic maturity. In proffering policy recommendation, the paper critically examines Proportional Representation as one possible mechanism for ensuring inclusive governance and dealing with some of the challenges associated with winner-takes-all politics.
A non parametric analysis is performed in the banking industry in the Philippines. This study is of interest from several points of view. First, it is of use for those who are interested in understanding how Philippine banks performed prior and throughout the global financial crisis. The study will point to which banking models handled the financial crisis well. Secondly, this would be of interest for those who are interested in comparing and contrasting the performance of different types of banking models in the Asia Pacific. As more local banks consider expanding overseas, there are various options in terms of banking models to consider, branch to the subsidiary, commercial to universal, each with its strict regulatory guidelines. For a developing economy, such as the Philippines, we aim to show the impact of different models based on traditionally used inputs of measuring banking performance, and applying it to our non parametric model. The study‘s conclusions point to the universal banking model is the most consistently efficient models of banking in the Philippines.
In today’s world, to survive, people need to work for a job which they are happy and satisfied. Before choosing their own job, they need to set a career path. When looking at the history about how it has been working for people, we see some factors affecting their orientation to their careers. The world is changing; so is the generation. This paper contains a research study about the career orientation for this new generation in Turkey. This empirical study is conducted with an AHP method with Turkish university students’ career orientation, having as main objective to identify the factors which are affecting the new generation about the setting their career orientation and order them in a hierarchical way. The results showed that this new generation is somehow different from the previous ones, especially when it comes to career orientation; some factors affect their way to choose a career path.
The present study aimed to examine the effect of the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) on organizational performance (OP). This study was motivated by the mixed findings in literature regarding the relationships between EO and organizational performance. Owing to the mixed results, a novel stream of research was created and this motivated further examining of the impact of other variables that may shed a light on the nature of the relationship. Several theories have been proposed in literature posit the direct relationships among strategies, resources and capabilities as antecedents of success. In this study, copies of questionnaires were distributed to 300 Libyan banks branches, where 200 copies of questionnaires were returned and analyzed. The proposed hypothesis was tested through PLS-SEM and the study results showed that EO positively predicted organizational performance.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the Bureau for Public Enterprises (BPP) and the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) have functions that tend to influence business life, aimed at protecting and promoting healthy relationship during business transactions. In this regards, the objectives and the extent of this activity may differ. The Pharmacists Council may be more exerting than the CAC because its activities relate largely to health. This, however, does not mean that its practices are not business related. This article emphasizes that the activities of the CAC can be strengthened if it follows the pattern of the Pharmacists’ Council (PCN, 2015).
Some people realized about the importance of physical activity in maintaining health and wellness. This perception exists because there is a lot of efforts and studies done to improve people health and wellness through physical activity. In top of that, it is known that motivation is one of the main effects of the people participation in sports or physical activity. Therefore, whether intrinsic or extrinsic, many have agreed that motivation plays important role in determining physical activity level. Hence, this study will be conducted to determine the relationship between extrinsic motivations with the physical activity level. The researcher has randomly selected 172 students from Faculty of Education UiTM as a respondent of this study. The study was conducted using questionnaire based on the Exercise Motivation Inventory (EMI) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) which then been edited to fulfil the requirement of the study. This study is to examine the relationship between extrinsic motivations with the physical activity level. The results showed that there was significant relationship between extrinsic motivations with the physical activity level. The male respondent was found to have high level of physical activity better than female respondents.
This study aims to analyze several factors that determine the performance of higher education students. Were taken into account in particular training of teachers, initial and continuous training of professors, psycho - pedagogical but especially training. We wanted to establish correlations between the interests of higher education for training teachers and their involvement in specific activities (continuing education courses, attending conferences and studies in the field of psycho-pedagogical etc.) and how they support their teaching activities and motivating the students. The issue of teacher education is a burning issue because the number of people willing to go through higher education is falling (due to multiple causes: small percentage of baccalaureate graduates, access to the labor market is not conditioned by a university degree, except for top positions, etc.). We cannot say the interests and training of teachers in their field of expertise or of psycho-pedagogy is conducive to attracting students towards higher education, but it is an important and motivating factor for students to take part in teaching or research activities and to be motivated to graduate, as well as to embrace a career in education in the future. Preparing teachers and their interest in continuing training cause changes in the style of organization and development of teaching activity generating motivation for learning among students.

1. Introduction
The concept of supply chain management is well recognized in the business environment today. Effective
supply chain management assists a company to the product development process by sourcing the valuable logistic
facilities in order to create optimum value for the customers. One of the technique to improve maximize customer
value is by increasing efficiency of the supply chain management within the business. According to Sukati et al.
(2012) the importance of making a close client relationship as a major practice of supply chain which enable an
organizations to react quicker to their customers. While building customer relationship is really an indispensable to
improve the supply chain through the coordination between provider and distributor. The more efficient coordination
between those two parties, the efficient supply chain management will be reflected in the business (Cai et al., 2013).
A company, who holds a full supply chain management within their job, will harvest a big benefit in long-term
base. The functional efficiency in the company’s business will contribute to client satisfaction and company success.
In explanation, supply chain management gives a beneficial impact in fulfilling customer satisfaction through several
dimensions such as sustainability, performance, competitiveness, and invention. A secure supply chain management
also covers two basic flows within the lines. Firstly, the physical flows which include the transformation of raw
materials converted into a product and the transportation itself to end customer. Secondly, the information flows that
consist of a controlling good and productive day to day up and down supply chain management (Chen et al., 2014).
The proposed study will investigate the impact of effective and efficient supply chain management towards creating
customers value where mediation items in between these relationships also explore in details.
2. Conceptual Framework Development
Figures Since 1990, the interest in Supply Chain Management (SCM) has increased in the company. Supply
Chain Management can be defined as the several actions and different processes that occurred in the company in
producing the products and services for ultimate customers (Lotfi et al., 2013). Supply Chain Management involves
several parties such as suppliers, distributors and ending customers. The objectives of Supply Chain Management are
to improve the competitiveness of the companionship and improve the client satisfaction. Another objective of the
Supply Chain Management is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in producing the products by lowering the
monetary value and resources. This orientation and understanding of supply chain management practice being
supported by researchers like Charles et al. (2014). They argued that supply chain management practices refer to
standard operational activities in the company to enhance management effectiveness through along the supply chain.
According to Perl and Adel (2013) Supply Chain Management can be understood as the organization that include
Abstract: The aim of this conceptual paper is to explicate the impact of effective supply chain management in
creating customers’ value. This study applied secondary source to collect all the relevant information in order to
derive the conceptual framework. The findings suggest that effective supply chain management has a positive
impact on the sustainability, organizational performance, competitiveness and innovativeness in way to creating
ultimate value for the customers.

entities or organization, personnel, raw material information and operation that oriented in the movement of
commodities and services from providers to end-customers.
There are three major Supply Chain Management practices; Lean Supply Chain Management, Resilient Supply
Chain Management and Green Supply Chain Management (Kannan et al., 2014). In explanation, Lean Supply
Chain management oriented on the supplier relationship, Just in Time approach and it stresses on the participation of
the suppliers relating product development. The Company that uses Lean Supply Chain Management has a focal
point on total quality management and waste elimination. Lean Supply Chain Management also stresses on the
delivery flexibility and relations with clients.
On the other hand the practices of Resilient Supply Chain Management focus on the strategy of sourcing that
enable the change or shifting of suppliers. In addition, it also permits flexibility in supply sourcing. In the focal point
of Resilient Supply Chain Management, caters the risk factors in Supply Chain Management and flexibility of
transportation of goods and serves.
Green Supply Chain Management focuses on the environmental factors throughout the Supply Chain. Green
supply chain management is the management between suppliers, products and the environment that the environment
protection principle is brought into the supplier’s management system (Payman and Cory, 2013). The objective of
green supply chain management is to increase the environment protection consciousness into original products and
improve the competitiveness in the market. Every phase that is managed by the company or organization in
producing the products or services will give impact to the environment (Ana et al., 2014). Through Green Supply
Chain Management, company or firm encourages suppliers to accept cover the packaging. Through, the Green
Supply Chain Management emphasizes the company to use cleaner production activities, minimizing the ways of the
production and brings down the use of hazardous and material that has toxicity. The concepts of Lean Management
and Green Management are ruled by principle of waste reduction, process centered focus and high level of peoples'
participants (Pedro and Jose, 2013).
Supply Chain Management embodied two approaches, which are centralized and decentralized approach.
Centralized approach is better than the decentralized approach because it allows the company or firm to better
control its food product quality in supply chain management and it also requires more time and financial resources
and not all companies will be able to have their own supply chain management (Chen et al., 2014). Centralized
approach also have several advantages such as cost minimization, better quality production, great control over the
process, reduction of waste and cost effective (Ana et al., 2014; Chen et al., 2014; Pedro and Jose, 2013). On the
reverse, the decentralized approach does not take more time and more financial resources along the supply chain
management.
According to Charles et al. (2014) the factors that give impact to the functionality of supply chain management
are Information and Communication Technology (ICT), supply and material management, operations, and client
services. The information and communication engineering is a critical component in assuring the good functionality
of supply chain management. It is because by having well managed data transfer throughout the chain of supply
from supplier to end clients, it will make business interaction between these parties become smoothly. In addition the
information that has been shared will avoid inaccuracy of data of all parties that affect in the interaction between
them. The furtherance of technology can serve to improve the effectiveness of the ICT, especially interaction
throughout the supply chain (Patrick et al., 2013).
Material and supply management is an important major element in securing supply chain management function
well. In explanation the semi-finished product and raw material that's been well managed and well transferred
throughout the supply chain indicates that company has a good supply chain management (Charles et al., 2014).
Furthermore, supply chain management functionality is dependent on the company operation it. It entails that
the companies that have a serious procedure in their management will lead to the stratum of the effectiveness of
supply chain management. Client service is one of the most significant elements that reflect supply chain
management. By providing a needed service required for satisfying customers, it will contribute to business
performance which from the necessary feedback of the customer it will help the product development as well as
creating new products in order to fulfill customer satisfying. Other factors give an impact directly to supply chain
management or technology, cost, inventory management and external regulation (Charles et al., 2014). All of this
component will assist to accomplish the goals of supply chain member as well as create a value to the end client.
Sukati et al. (2012) indicated that there are distinctive characteristics that differentiates supply chain management
strategy; Lean supply chain, Agile Supply Chain, and Hybrid Supply Chain. The lean strategy is about making
continuous improvement by eliminating waste of resources which involve advanced technology. Meanwhile agile
strategy is about the flexibility of the organization that responds to the global situations that have changed rapidly. In
other hand, hybrid supply chain strategy is a combination of lean and agile supply chain strategy to satisfy the
complex product requirements. Even though supply chain management practice focuses on the relation management
throughout the supply chain, the concept of supply change management can be adopted within the management of
the company (Lengnick-Hall et al., 2013). In explanation the supply chain management practice can be embraced
inside the house because it can improve and enhance the flexibility of the data transfer between the departments in
the governing body. In summation, it can assist the company to adjust and align the movement of the company assets
throughout the sections. To sum up the wide application of supply chain management practice that involves external
stakeholders like suppliers and customers can be narrow to the management of human resource, management of
material within the companies.

In order to see the impact of supply chain management towards the output of marketable product, the concept of
marketing concept itself should lead into consideration first. Kerin et al. (2013) stated that marketing can be
understood as the set of actions that being contracted in society to evolve, having an interaction, conveying and
exchange the good and services that can benefit various stakeholders; consumer, company, staff, supplier and
investor. They also argued that marketing should strive in order to fulfil consumer’s need and desires. Therefore, in
order for the firm to make the product, the product itself, must satisfy the requirement of consumers. Faizan et al.
(2011) stated most of the top firms, especially a financial institution believe that the customers always look at for
what they’re serving. The ability to fulfil customer demand is aligned with the production of marketable product. By
producing the product that fulfils customer demand, customer willingness and rate of preferable to buy the product
reflects marketability of the products (Shaharuddin et al., 2014). The success in producing marketable product that
satisfying customer demand, will reflect on company growth which cannot be attained without a systematic supply
chain management system. Zhao and Wijewardana (2012) stated that there is a major impact on supply chain
management towards producing marketable products.
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is pivotal and important tool system that can give direct effect and impact to
the marketability of a product to consumers. The impacts are; sustainability, performance, competitive advantage,
and innovativeness. According to Kannan et al. (2014) supply chain management has a directly positive impact on
the sustainability. The concept of sustainability can be interpreted as the ability and capability of the company to
ensure all stakeholders in the supply chain, including suppliers, customer, employees, and shareholders’ interests
being relatively easily protected. In the simple word, the company that has good sustainability elements will have
good relation with all stakeholders because the firms itself try to manage of all shareholders’ interest. This
orientation being supported by other researchers like Pedro and Jose (2013) supported this orientation by adding the
elements of lean supply chain management are beneficial in enhancing sustainability of the company.
Regarding performance, according to Charles et al. (2014) supply chain management is able to enhance and
measure the performance of the company in its business activities such as to assess the performance of business
which includes assessment of financial measure of performance, assessment of marketing inputs, and assessment of
effectiveness and efficiency. Besides, as evidence in the sales performance by maximizing is system-full cost while
meeting customer service level demands. Likewise, supply chain management practice includes set of approaches
and practices that effectively integrate with providers, manufactures, distributors and customers, to ameliorate the
long-term business operation and their supply chain.
In terms of competitive advantage, Huseyin et al. (2013) effective supply chain management (SCM) has
become a potentially important advance of ensuring competitive advantage in five dimensions of SCM practices
which are strategic supplier, partnership, customer relationship, the level of information sharing, quality of
information sharing, and deferral. This is understood that higher levels of SCM practice can contribute to an
enhanced competitive advantage and improved organizational performance. In gain, competitive advantage can have
a direct, positive impact on organizational functioning. Besides that, according to Zahra et al. (2013) supply chain
management is able to create the competitive advantage by letting down the cost of resourcing.
Furthermore, Supply Chain Management has an impact on innovativeness. This has been supported by Voon-
Hsien et al. (2014) confirms that Supply Chain Management able to improve technological innovation performance
because technology is very significant to the progress and also development of modern industry. Therefore, it will
improve the efficiency by lowering the cost and increase productivity. Furthermore, researchers have found that
innovation is positively related to a company’s competitive advantages. Moreover, Jury and Matteo (2014) Supply
chain management focuses on eliminating waste. In addition, supply chain management also can be employed to
check and determine the global sourcing effects in the business operation (Ruggero and Matteo, 2011). The concept
of global sourcing can be understood of buying of products beyond the geographical area from which the frames are
located by applying supply chain management. Companies are able to ensure the continuity of provision from the
suppliers even though they are placed in the different geographical area. It is due to the good relations that have been
developed throughout the application of supply chain management. Based on the above discussion the following
relationship can be developed.
It is expected that supply chain management will give a positive impact to the production of marketable products.
Thus supply chain management give direct impact to the production of customers value in terms of products or
services by using four significant dimensions; sustainability, performance, competitiveness, and inventions. The
company that has best supply chain management will have good sustainability within the company. While
sustainability is almost certain in a good supply chain management, it will also get a more respectable performance
in term of financial measurement, marketing input, and operational efficiency. An efficient supply chain
management also brings a bigger impact on competitive advantage of commercial enterprise which includes strategic
partnership between supplier and distributor and also a great customer relationship. In exercising a good supply
chain management, a company, perhaps carries a technological innovation performance by increasing the efficiency
within their lines.

Figure-1. Supply Chain Management and Customer Value
3. Conclusions
Referable to the high competition within the business environment, most companies are now trying to improve
their efficiency and productivity. One of the techniques is to improve those by enhancing their quality in the supply
chain management. Supply chain includes the relationship between supplier, manufacturer, distributor, and even
with the customer himself or herself. There are four dimensions of supply chain management in customer value
creation, which is sustainability, performance, competitiveness, and innovations. By implicating a good supply chain
these four dimensions may be considered in order to bring the efficiency and effectiveness in the company. Further
research requires testing the proposed model under a specific industry perspective before the conceptual framework
to be generalizable. On the other hand, the researchers also can add the concept of “Halal” especially in supply
chain management regarding for a particular group of customers. The display of halal logo can provide a confidence
to purchase the halal products because companies involved in halal business are mainly the non-Muslims (Al-Qudsi,
2014) thus the studies of halal supply chain management is also encouraged.
