it's our presentation during the third international conference of information systems and technologies ICIST 2013 held at Tangier, Morocco in which we propose a new approach for human assessment of ontologies using an online questionnaire.
The increased potential of the ontologies to reduce the human interference has wide range of applications. This paper identifies requirements for an ontology development platform to innovate artificially intelligent web. To facilitate this process, RDF and OWL have been developed as standard formats for the sharing and integration of data and knowledge. The knowledge in the form of rich conceptual schemas called ontologies. Based on the framework, an architectural paradigm is put forward in view of ontology engineering and development of ontology applications and a development portal designed to support ontology engineering, content authoring and application development with a view to maximal scalability in size and complexity of semantic knowledge and flexible reuse of ontology models and ontology application processes in a distributed and collaborative engineering environment.
A Semi-Automatic Ontology Extension Method for Semantic Web ServicesIDES Editor
this paper provides a novel semi-automatic ontology
extension method for Semantic Web Services (SWS). This is
significant since ontology extension methods those existing
in literature mostly deal with semantic description of static
Web resources such as text documents. Hence, there is a need
for methods that can serve dynamic Web resources such as
SWS. The developed method in this paper avoids redundancy
and respects consistency so as to assure high quality of the
resulting shared ontologies.

With the growth of data-oriented research in humanities, a large number of research datasets have been
created and published through web services. However, how to discover, integrate and reuse these distributed
heterogeneous research datasets is a challenging task. Ontology is the soul between series digital humanities
resources, which provides a good way for people to discover and understand these datasets. With the release

A FRAMEWORK FOR BUILDING A MULTILINGUAL INDUSTRIAL ONTOLOGY: METHODOLOGY AND ...IJwest
As Web 3.0 is blooming, ontologies augment semantic Web with semi–structured knowledge. Industrial
ontologies can help in improving online commercial communication and marketing. In addition,
conceptualizing the enterprise knowledge can improve information retrieval for industrial applications.
Having ontologies combine multiple languages can help in delivering the knowledge to a broad sector of
Internet users. In addition, multi-lingual ontologies can also help in commercial transactions. This
research paper provides a framework model for building industrial multilingual ontologies which include
Corpus Determination, Filtering, Analysis, Ontology Building, and Ontology Evaluation. It also addresses
factors to be considered when modeling multilingual ontologies. A case study for building a bilingual
English-Arabic ontology for smart phones is presented. The ontology was illustrated using an ontology
editor and visualization tool. The built ontology consists of 67 classes and 18 instances presented in both
Arabic and English. In addition, applications for using the ontology are presented. Future research
directions for the built industrial ontology are presented.

ONTOLOGY VISUALIZATION PROTÉGÉ TOOLS – A REVIEW ijait
Protégé is one of the most popular tools of the ontology visualization. The “Protégé” tools are being applied for further development in various disciplines for better understanding of knowledge. These tools commonly use four methods of ontology visualization, namely, indented list, node-link and tree,
zoomable, and focus+context. The purpose of this work is to present a study on application of these four methods in the development of different kinds of protégé visualization tools and categorize their characteristics and features so that it assists in method selection and promotes further future research in
the area of ontology visualization.
Ontology Construction from Text: Challenges and TrendsCSCJournals
Ontology is one of the most popular representation model used for knowledge representation, sharing and reusing. In light of the importance of ontology, different methodologies for building ontologies have been proposed. Ontology construction is a difficult and time-consuming process. Many efforts have been made to help ontology engineers to construct ontologies and to overcome the bottleneck of knowledge acquisition. The aim of this paper is to give a brief overview of ontology learning approaches and to review some of ontology extraction systems and tools followed by a summarizing comparison of them. Also some of the current issues and main trends of ontology construction from texts will be discussed.

Ontology and Ontology Libraries: a Critical StudyDebashisnaskar
The concept of digital library revolutionized its popularity with the development of networking technology. Digital library stores various kind of documents in digitized format that enables user smooth access to these documents at subsidized costs. In the recent past, a similar concept i.e., ontology library has gained popularity among the communities like semantic web, artificial intelligence, information science, philosophy, linguistics, and so forth.
Association Rule Mining Based Extraction of Semantic Relations Using Markov L...IJwest
Ontology may be a conceptualization of a website into a human understandable, however machine-readable format consisting of entities, attributes, relationships and axioms. Ontologies formalize the intentional aspects of a site, whereas the denotative part is provided by a mental object that contains assertions about instances of concepts and relations. Semantic relation it might be potential to extract the whole family-tree of a outstanding personality employing a resource like Wikipedia. In a way, relations describe the linguistics relationships among the entities involve that is beneficial for a higher understanding of human language. The relation can be identified from the result of concept hierarchy extraction. The existing ontology learning process only produces the result of concept hierarchy extraction. It does not produce the semantic relation between the concepts. Here, we have to do the process of constructing the predicates and also first order logic formula. Here, also find the inference and learning weights using Markov Logic Network. To improve the relation of every input and also improve the relation between the contents we have to propose the concept of ARSRE. This method can find the frequent items between concepts and converting the extensibility of existing lightweight ontologies to formal one. The experimental results can produce the good extraction of semantic relations compared to state-of-art method.
Named Entity Recognition Using Web Document CorpusIJMIT JOURNAL
This paper introduces a named entity recognition approach in textual corpus. This Named Entity (NE) can be a named: location, person, organization, date, time, etc., characterized by instances. A NE is found in texts accompanied by contexts: words that are left or right of the NE. The work mainly aims at identifying contexts inducing the NE’s nature. As such, The occurrence of the word "President" in a text, means that this word or context may be followed by the name of a president as President "Obama". Likewise, a word preceded by the string "footballer" induces that this is the name of a footballer. NE recognition may be viewed as a classification method, where every word is assigned to a NE class, regarding the context.
The aim of this study is then to identify and classify the contexts that are most relevant to recognize a NE, those which are frequently found with the NE. A learning approach using training corpus: web documents, constructed from learning examples is then suggested. Frequency representations and modified tf-idf representations are used to calculate the context weights associated to context frequency, learning example frequency, and document frequency in the corpus.

QUrdPro: Query processing system for Urdu LanguageIJERA Editor
The tremendous increase in the multilingual data on the internet has increased the demand for efficient retrieval of information. Urdu is one of the widely spoken and written languages of south Asia. Due to unstructured format of Urdu language information retrieval of information is a big challenge. Question Answering systems aims to retrieve point-to-point answers rather than flooding with documents. It is needed when the user gets an in depth knowledge in a particular domain. When user needs some information, it must give the relevant answer. The question-answer retrieval of ontology knowledge base provides a convenient way to obtain knowledge for use, but the natural language need to be mapped to the query statement of ontology. This paper describes a query processing system QUrdPro based on ontology. This system is a combination of NLP and Ontology. It makes use of ontology in several phases for efficient query processing. Our focus is on the knowledge derived from the concepts used in the ontology and the relationship between these concepts. In this paper we describe the architecture of QUrdPro ,query processing system for Urdu and process model for the system is also discussed in detail.

Harnessing WebAssembly for Real-time Stateless Streaming PipelinesChristina Lin
Traditionally, dealing with real-time data pipelines has involved significant overhead, even for straightforward tasks like data transformation or masking. However, in this talk, we’ll venture into the dynamic realm of WebAssembly (WASM) and discover how it can revolutionize the creation of stateless streaming pipelines within a Kafka (Redpanda) broker. These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.
NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

Competency location system objectives:
1. Improve the quality of work: Identification of the
most competent person to perform a task
2. Improve the productivity: Reduce the time

Motivation
Our current CLS has some
shortcomings:
• Input through free text: possibility
of spelling errors, use of synonyms
and ineffective information search
• Exclusive use of tags to describe
the stored data, which leads to a
lack of semantics
5. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 5
in order to address these shortcomings, the system
has to be enhanced with an application ontology
for the location of intra organizational skills
Expected ontology benefits:
• Use of a controlled vocabulary: same vocabulary
for all members of the organization
• Enrichment of terms with semantics, efficient
skills research and a better management skills

Phase 2: Ontology Selection
- Discovery in repositories and SW search engines:
25 candidate ontologies
- Evaluation & comparison: are the requirements
(CQs) covered by these ontologies?
- Selection of O24:

label: skills.owl, version: 2011
classes, properties ans instances: 22/17/123
Ontology Building Process
17. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 17
1. Glossary of terms of the selected ontology
2. Glossary of terms obtained from competency
questions and their answers
3. Data dictionary of the first version of the
database of “ESI Clever Network”
Ontology Building Process
Phase 4: Restructuring
Fusion of the terms of the following glossaries
19. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 19
Phase 5: Forward Engineering
Phase 5.1: Conceptualization
Consists of organizing and structuring relevant terms
Ontology Building Process
20. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 20
Typical competencies to be modeled in our domain are:
• Technical abilities, such as programming languages,
database management systems, operating systems or
optimization tools
• Engineering competences, such as networking, computer
architecture, human-computer interaction or knowledge
management
• Social competences, such as coaching, collaboration or
communication
• Language skills such as writing, reading or speaking
• Business competences such as auditing, management or
selling
ECAO Ontology

Ontology Building Process
Phase 5.2: Formalization
Formal ontology must include axioms using formal
language to constrain the possible interpretations of
the ontology components

ECAO Ontology
25. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 25
The integration of ECAO ontology in the competence location
system includes:
• Update the CLS Database according to the new conceptual
schema, such as adding missing tables and programming the
new constraints on the database
• Update the CLS program according to the ontology
constraints, such as to replace the free text input fields with
extensible lists of predefined values
… New CLS based Ontology
Phase 6: Integration (ongoing work)
26. 10/06/2014COSI' 2014 26
What We did:
• we designed a new architecture of our current
competency location system (add the semantic
perspective)
• we developed a competency application ontology
(best practices of ontology development) to be
integrated in the CLS
What remains to be done:
• To Integrate the developed ontology in the CLS
• To Evaluate the new CLS
Conclusion & future work
