3. Dashboard
All WP Sites are entered by
inputting the site url
followed by /wp-admin
Example:
Ilovecake.com/wp-admin
Then you’re prompted to
sign in.

After that you are
introduced to your
dashboard where you
can see what needs
to be updated and
your recent views
and alerts.

of your dashboard
you need to
familiarize yourself
with are the Pages,
Plugins, and Settings.

6. Plugins
Plugins have multiple uses,
from site security to social
media buttons, SEO grading
for your posts, and image
uploaders. The easiest way to
add one is to click the add new
button when looking at the
menu for plugins or to upload
one directly from a .zip file.

7. Pages & Posting
To post content onto a page simply write a post in the post section of your
dashboard. By default, all posts made will go to your blog page (which will
always be on your site). If you want to create content for a new page such as
Contact, then you need to create a separate page.

After you have your blog
posts, home page, and all
other pages you would like
on your site, go to the
menus option under the
main section Appearance
and add the pages to a
customize menu you
would like to use.

9. Themes & Customization
There are over 3,000
WordPress themes you
can use to build your
site. Some themes are
worth paying for
because they provide
customer support just in
case you need help with
customizing them.

After installing your
theme you are able to
customize them in
real time by pressing
CUSTOMIZE under the
Appearances tab.*

All themes are different, so just play around with them until you find the right style for
your needs.
11. Security
➔Get WordFence
➔Create two admin
accounts from the
USERS tab.
◆ Make sure they aren’t
labeled admin or
administrator.
➔BackUp your site so
you can reset it in the
