This document proposes applying the "Long Tail" concept to sales territory management. It suggests maintaining focus on the top 20% of customers while increasing frequency of contact with the remaining 80% of the customer base, specifically those ranked 21-50 who still represent significant sales volume. By decreasing frequency with top customers where returns have diminished and increasing frequency with other important customers, the strategy aims to maintain market share across the full territory.
