If you have one full time community manager for social media on your campus, you're lucky! For most, creating content for Twitter and Facebook is usually an add on to a staff member’s already full plate. And as we all work hard to create engaging content and be responsive,
we sometimes have to take on weekend work to tackle that irate Saturday afternoon post. Because if you ignore it until Monday morning, it is too late or perhaps will, by then, turn into a volatile situation!
For most, the model of stretching current staff to manage social media won't work for the long haul. Absent funding for more positions, what do you do?
Enter the secret sauce. Students. The key is to harness their eagerness and stories so you wind up with authentic content and real time interactions. But, how? This session will highlight success stories from the best case studies education has to offer and provide tangible ways to motivate, train, and trust your student workers or volunteers.
Presentation by Beth Gordon from Pace University and Kristina Hoeppner from Catalyst IT at the AAEEBL Annual Conference in Boston on 30 July 2014.

Data driven decision-making - Students' Unions 2013Jo Walters
A session I delivered at Students' Unions 2013 - a national conference for students' union staff and officers. There isn't masses of information on each slide - I'm not a '27 bullet points in a small font on each slide' sort of person - but hopefully you can follow my points.

Jefferson County Public Schools Success StoryNaviance
One major trend affecting schools is the increasing growth of state-mandated or recommended adoption of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs). And while schools may support
the idea in theory, many are scrambling to find ways to meet the requirements. Paper-based plans are hard to keep updated and are not easily communicated to parents,
even though family engagement in students’ planning is critical. These challenges, along with lack of access to quality college and career planning tools and materials,
often prevents successful implementation of ILP requirements.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
