Positive Impacts Of The Crusades
The Crusades resulted in a more negative way. The Crusades resulted in a more negative way
because, many crusaders destroyed muslims property, and killed a lot of them. More reasons
why the crusades were more negative was because they killed a lot of people including many
innocent people like women and children. Crusaders also destroyed many buildings, synagogues
and holy books, and Jews were being attacked. The last thing is the crusaders did things they were
not supposed to do. For example they attacked other places when they were hired to do other
things not including attacking anything, so they lied and did the opposite of what they were going
to do. So, in result with this many people were angry and the crusadescame out as more negative
than positive.
The Crusades were a very harsh and gruesome wars between religions. This whole fight/war was
all to take back the Holy Land. There are many reasons why the results of the Crusades were so
negative.
Document 4 states that Moreover, the assault of one christian people on another, when one of the
goals of the fourth crusade was reunion of the Greek and Latin churches, made a split between
Greek and Latin churches permanent . This basically states that they split up Greek and Latin
churches from each other, and that Christians were being assaulted other people.
This is important because this shows that the crusades were negative. This shows the crusades
resulted in a negative way because they were separating people and

Racism In Manzanar And Mr. Wakatar
Another large problem that impacted both societies was the racism that both the people of
Manzanar and Cuba had to face. In many cases racism had severely affected both societies,
whether it be economic, social, or even cultural ways. One of the effects of racism that affected
both societies, took place during the aftermath. After the people were released from the camps,
finding work and attempting to recreate what they used to have become surreal. In the book our
main character says to Mr. Wakatsuki I have been living in this country nine years longer than you
have. Do you realize that? Yet I am prevented by law from becoming a citizen. I am prevented by
law from owning land. I am now separated from my family without cause... People from

Software Defined Networking ( Sdn ) Essay
Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a way to construct networks virtually with software that
can be hosted on one machine. These software can solve issues such as cost, scalability, and
security. Software defined networking is an approach to computer networking that allows
network administrators to manage network services with lower level functionality. SDN is
meant to address the fact that the static architecture of traditional networks doesn t support the
dynamic, scalable computing and storage needs of more modern computing environments such
as data centers. This is done by decoupling or disassociating the system that makes decisions
about where traffic is sent from the underlying systems that forward traffic to the selected
destination . SDN was commonly associated with the OpenFlow protocol since the latter s
emergence in 2011. Since 2012, however, many companies have moved away from OpenFlow,
and have embraced different techniques. These include Cisco Systems Open Network
Environment and Nicira s network virtualization platform. SD WAN applies similar technology
to a wide area network . History The origins of software defined networking began shortly after
Sun Microsystems released Java in 1995. One of the first SDN projects was AT T s GeoPlex. AT
T Labs Geoplex project members Michah Lerner, George Vanecek, Nino Vidovic, and Dado
Vrsalovic leveraged the network APIs and dynamic aspects of the Java language as a means to
implement middleware networks.

Authorship, Audience And Genre Of The Gospel Of Matthew
1.Authorship, audience and genre of the Gospel of Matthew
Authorship:
Most scholars, but not R.T. France (2007, pp14 22), believe that Matthew s Gospel was written by
a scribe, not the Apostle Matthew and that it was written approximately between AD 80 90. France
states that if the book was written at this time it was within Matthew s lifetime, and thus authorship
cannot be proven.
A key reason pointing to the Gospel being written by a scribe is that the Gospel was written in
Greek and that the author is very familiar with the Hebrew Bible, connecting his five discourses
with Hebrew Scriptures. Even though tax collectors, like Matthew, were known to be literate it is
not necessarily true that they would be fluent in Hebrew, Aramaic... Show more content on

The tell the story of Jesus birth, Passion, Death and Resurrection.
The direct teachings of Jesus give instructions of how to live as Christians and the Parables were
used in the Gospel to immediately confront us with a truth and evoke a change. (Fee Stuart,2003,
p. 152). The five major discourses of Matthew s Gospel are centred around five lengthy Sermons
using parables to make a point and call the people to make a change.
2.Brief synopsis of Matthew 16:13 23
Matthew 16: 13 23 is the confession of Peter of Jesus true identity and the Prophecy of Jesus death
and resurrection.
In previous chapters, the real identity of Jesus is unknown the crowds wonder if he is the Son of
David (Matt 12:23), the disciples previously said that he was the Son of God (Matt 8:29, 14:33)
and Jesus himself identifies himself as the Son of Man (Matt 10: 23; 2:8; 12:40) and even likening
himself to a Prophet (Matt 13:57).
In Chapter 16, Jesus asked His disciples who people said He was, and who they, His disciples,
think He was. This comes at a point of time where the disciples have been witness to the Pharisees
and Sadducees wanting to test Jesus (Matt 16:1) and Jesus refusal to do so and when Jesus told
them to beware of the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Matt 16:12).
It is here that Simon Peter answers You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God (Matt 16:13
16). Jesus acknowledges this truth and tells Peter that the only way he could

The Importance Of Drinking Water
Introduction
Body Paragraph #1 Background:
The absolute most important thing to human life is water, without water all life on Earth would
not exist. Thankfully water quality is highly important and monitored to ensure its safety for
human consumption. According to the U.S. Geological Survey s (USGS) Water Science School
over 96% of the Earths, water is Ocean salt water, making less than 4% of drinkable water more
valuable. (Where s the World s Water? 2016). Having clean drinking wateris not only important for
our survival as humans, but it is also important because it prevents the development of various
types of diseases that can take out villages or small cities with one outbreak. According to
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about, 2,200 children die every day as a result of
diarrheal diseases, due to unsafe drinking water 88% of these deaths are due to inadequate
availability of water for hygiene, and lack of access to sanitation. (Global Water, Sanitation,
Hygiene (WASH, 2015). Taking the necessary steps and precautions to ensure everyone has access
to clean water can reduce the threats of many diseases.
Body Paragraph # 2 Objective:
In the experiment, a series of test will be conducted, logged, and introduced to several contaminants
in order to make the water undrinkable. The contaminated water will then be filtered through
several different techniques designed to make the water fit for consumption again. The entire
process with providing a

Disadvantages Of Recycling Plastic
In the world today, plastic bags are used just about everywhere. This is due to their convenience,
low cost, and durability. Additionally, plastic bags can be found just about everywhere, in
ditches, in cornfields, and in the Rappahannock River. It results in a number of environmental
problems for animals, as it also does for humans. For this reason, communities should start
recycling plastic bags as much as possible and keep them out of harm s way. It is possible to
change the plastic bags impact. New rules and regulations should be set to prevent the
environmental problems. Although plastic bags cause many problems, they are not as worse as the
popular alternative, paper bags, or cotton bags. Cotton made bags would need to be washed in hot...

If the government banned plastic bags for good, then the result would be an increase in paper bags.
This would result in even more environmental disadvantages. Both bags consume about the same
amount of energy, but in different ways. Paper bags cause a greater amount of water pollutionand
they also cause trees to be removed. Trees are essential because they need to be present to absorb
carbon dioxide in the air. Paper bags also emit much more air pollution throughout their
production. Plastic bags are made from petroleum which in the end becomes more dangerous for
wildlife consumption, because of the element being worse for animals rather than paper. This is
the only main issue for plastic bags, which can be prevented. According to Lilianfield, paper
emits 80 percent more greenhouse gases, it uses three times the amount of water it takes to make
plastic bags, and paper bags generate 80 percent more solid waste (Source F). Just because
disadvantages come with a product or service, does not mean that the public should quickly change
to a different one, without analyzing how much worse a product is. Paper bags are just as bad for
the community as plastic

The Use Of Tone In Robert Browning s My Last Duchess
There is nothing more telling of an individual than the way they present themselves. Speech is an
incredibly powerful means of expression, and often gives deeper insight into who one is as a
person. My Last Duchess by Robert Browning explores the complexity of tone in a way that is
both effective and powerful. The poem is narrated by the Dukeof Ferrara, who is speaking to an
envoy about a painting of his previous duchess. He recounts the memories behind the artwork in an
ominous and snide manner, giving the reader insight on the nature of their relationship. Tone is a
major literary element in the poem that not only paints the Duke as a monster, but also makes the
piece more effective. Browning utilizes subtle figurative language that is... Show more content on

The irony in his tone is used primarily when the Duke postulates how his wife behaved around
other men. His sarcastic, demeaning speech shines through when he states she had a heart how
shall I say? too soon made glad (21 22). Not only does this line deliver verbal irony, it also gives
insight on the Duke s perception of his wife. Though he has no concrete evidence for her
suspicious behavior, he does not hesitate to passively critique her. Browning additionally
develops this critical personality when the Duke fantasizes about the gifts his wife received
from other men. He mentions a bough of cherries some officious fool broke in the orchard for
her (27 28) and how this gift would draw from her alike the approving speech (30). Though a gift
of cherries is nothing significant, the Duke is annoyed by it. He does not want his wife to thank
the men, because her approving speech is too generous and flirtatious. The image of the cherries
from the orchard is something that the Duke s mind curated. It s his imagination, and that s a
technique Browning utilizes to emphasize the Duke s jealous personality. The imagery itself is
powerful, but when paired with the images created by the Duke s tone, the poem gains even more

Gladstone s Consolidation Of Power Essay
Historically in British history, the monarch had absolute power over political policies. The
beginning of the nineteenth century opened up the door for a British society in which the
monarch became a ceremonial figure. Political power had been transferred from the monarch to
Parliament and more specifically the Prime Minister. A significant piece of the nineteenth century
British politics would be dominated by two figures, William Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli.
These two men would effectively forge a monopoly over British politics for the better part of
thirty years in a battle that encapsulated the land. Though Gladstone would have lowly political
beginnings, he would achieve success exemplified in his multiple terms as Prime Minister. His
formation of the Liberal party enabled him to gain signifiant Parliamentary power at a relatively
early age in his political career. Through his multiple years at the helm of British politics,
Gladstone was able to lead the nation towards reform, through he would hold to some traditional
policies of previous Prime Ministers. William Gladstone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

modern attempt to establish universal public education. Though Gladstone created freedoms for
some areas of British rule, he failed to reach Ireland. Gladstone s attempt to include Ireland in the
new wave of education reform came in the proposal of the Irish University Bill of 1873. This
legislation attempted to split the University of Dublin into several secular public universities.

Total asset turnover is a ratio that narrates the amount of sales generated for every unit of the asset.
In 2012 , an asset turnover ratio for Axiata is 0.41 means Axiata can produce $0.41 for every $1
worth of assets. In general, the higher the ratio means the company is more effective at using its
assets. But whether a particular ratio is good or bad differs on the industry in which your company
works. Furthermore, some industries are simply more asset intensive than others ,so their total

Impact Of The Imperial Rule On West African Politics Essay
Senegal History Despite its small size, Senegal is an important player in West African politics. It
has had a long history, from its days as a collection of tribal kingdoms, to its existence under
French rule and eventual decolonization, to its place today as a model of peaceful democracy ( it
is one of the few African states that has managed to avoid military or political coups since its
independence in 1960 (Anderson, 2013)). Senegal has retained much of its traditional African
values as well as adapted to traditional European ideals (Gellar, 1995). France and other European
countries have had a profound effect on the social, political and economic structures Senegal has in
place today. By analyzing the previous structures developed by the Africans and then comparing
them to the placed upon them by the French, one can truly begin to understand the extent of the
transformation that has occurred. Before the imperial rule in the Senegambia area, governing
methods were largely focused upon a single dominant power ruling over various villages, towns,
and social groups that were incorporated into the dominant political unit (Gellar, 1995). The
excessive land space to population ratio at the time meant that controlling vast amounts of land did
not determine a kingdom s power, it was instead based upon the amount of people under their rule.
Because there was little competition for territory, a ruling government did not have permanent
borders (Gellar, 1995). This is unlike

Drones Pros Cons
Over the past few decades, drones have slowly been coming into use, showing astonishing results,
such as a 1.5% civilian casualty rate (Lewis 1 9). At first they were only used for surveillance, but
now, they are used for much more than that. The military should continue using drones because of
the many advantages they have over traditional combat methods, namely fewer civilian casualties,
lower expenditures, increased abilities, and the moral responsibility of their use. Despite these
facts, there are those who question the use of drones and believe that drones create more threats to
our military than they destroy. The advantages of drones provide the U.S. military with an edge
over terrorists and will help end the war on terrorismwith as little costs and casualties as possible.

A team of experts behind the scenes with the drone pilot can look at the details of a situation and

specialists, drones are the most moral weapons available (Ahmad 21 29). Many even consider
their use ethically obligatory (Shane). This means that it is the responsibility for the U.S. to use
drones and protect other nations from terrorists and other threats. The use of drones is considered a
responsibility of the U.S. because of how little collateral damage it inflicts. Drones are so much
more efficient at eliminating targets without many civilian casualties than traditional methods that
it would be morally wrong to not use drones in our military (Shane). As more drones are used,
fewer soldiers have to be sent to battle, which means fewer of our soldiers coming back in

The Presidential Selection Of 1860
The presidential selection of 1860 set the stage for the American Civil war. By 1860, the nation
had been at odds mostly up to that point regarding questions of states rights and slavery in the
territories. Southerners were livid over the preparation by an abolitionist, John Brown, to establish a
slave uprising at Harper Ferry, Virginia. This event garnered headlines all over the nation in
newspapers and magazines. On the other hand, the Northern Republic seemed equally infuriated by
the Supreme Court verdict in the case of Dred Scott v. Stanford, which affirmed free soil
unconstitutional. The Northern Democrats, however, struggled to convince the Americans that
their guidelines of popular sovereignty still made sense. Enter the presidential election of 1860,
which brought these tribulations to a clash with dramatic cost. The Democratic Party divided into
three groups along their provincial lines, with each person vying for control of the party and each
holding dissimilar ideas about how to deal with servitude in the West. Their candidates consisted of
John C. Breckinride, John Bell, and Stephen A. Douglas; their efforts would be rubbish, however,
as Abraham Lincoln would be triumphant for the Republican Party. Lincoln stood on the grounds
that the West should be completely liberated of slavery entirely; which apparently was sufficient as
he won the election with less than forty percent of the popular vote. On a side note about the
election, fifty nine percent of the

1 and that the stories are more valuable for scholars of society than scholars of religion 2.
The question if these stories are a good window on the Iron Age is a difficult one. Firstly historians
can not even confirm what happened in the time of the Iron Age Celts, secondly, without much...

The character Cu Chulaind could grow to abnormal sizes to defeat enemies like in the first story
of The Boy hood Deeds of Cu Chulaind where he fought and proved himself to all three fifties of
the young boys. Then in the second story he is conquering enemies at the age of six to save his
people and their name. These stories even have supernatural pigs. The pig in The Tale of Macc Da
Tho s Pig was so big that 40 oxen had laid across it and its stomach was enough for a meal for nine
men. 4
Beside these logical impossibilities historians have also found mistakes in the historical
interpretations of these stories. The research in Ronald Hutton s book The Pagan Religions of
the Ancient British Isles tells of many errors in the in the references in association with the
proposed time line. The archeology suggests that the earliest literature was not a window on the
Iron Age but on the early Middle Ages in which it was composed. In many of the stories they
speak of gathering in Halls, fighting with swords which came about in the Viking age, and riding
in chariots from the Christian times 5. The real Iron Age Celts had a simpler way of living than
the higher class they are portrayed to have enjoyed living in.
The stories in the book Early Irish Myths And Sagas can tell us a great deal about the Celtic
Peoples praying to more than one god. Some of the stories tell us who their gods were, what their

The Permeability Of Membrane Permeability
Ability of cell membrane transport of membrane permeabilityпјЊ diffusion пјЊosmosis and
membrane voltages
Introduction
Cell membranes are boundaries of the cell, it controls all the interaction between cells as well as
passage transport of the material we normally describe as membrane transport. Membrane transport
are very essential for all living things, however not all substance can transport in and out of
membranes and different ions can pass through membranes in different ways.
Membrane permeability is very important as to maintain the cell in a stable condition as we can
also describe as remain our cell a more homeostatic environment by control which substances could
can go through cells. Membranes are essential for control the concentration of particular ion, and
establish the concentration requires. We can observe those mechanisms of cell membranefrom a
considerable ATP synthesis and solute transport through the plasma membranes. Gradients which
cause those ions to move cross the membranes are potential of cell .when a separation of charge
occurred an electrical potential occurred results with voltages can be measured in the cell.
Osmosis is the one of important transport for living cells.it allows water from one side to another.
The direction of osmosis are usually from high concentration of water to lower concentration. This
is because when the membrane has a high level on one side of membranes it could results as a
pressure, which is known as osmotic pressure.

services for various applications has led to the growth of web services on a large scale. Due to
the increase in usage of web services, it has become of prime importance to design systems for
effective web service recommendation. In our project, we propose a system for effective web
service recommendations incorporating users preferences regarding quality and diversities
amongst web services. Users requirements are considered and mined from his usage history. Then
we find functional similarities using clustering techniques followed by applying a ranking
algorithm to list top k services. To discover high quality Web services, a number of QoS models
for Web services and QoS driven service selection approaches have been proposed in the service

in 77 counties in Oklahoma and there are about 1.7 million feral hogs total in those counties. As

The Different Types Of Government
Introduction
When we speak of the government a lot of questions runs through the minds of people such as,
where did it start from? who where the founders of government? how did the different types of
government come about? During the first civilization in Egypt, Mesopotamia, India, China, Mexico
and other places there where small communities know as kingdoms. These Kingdoms were
governed by Kings, and from this civilization was established. These kings had different ways of
ruling their kingdoms and from these methods of ruling, government came into existence. The term
government refers to the way a group of people are ruled and how their rulers are chosen.

A monarchy system of government is when the country is headed by one person that is either a
king or queen, a perfect example is Great Britain. Aristocracy is when the country is ruled by
aristocrats . Aristocrats are mainly educated and rich people.
Dictatorship is when a person or a group of people rule a country the way they feel is right. The
views of the people are normally not taken into consideration during decision making, an example
is North Korea. The United States of America, is a country made up of 50 states. In 1789, George
Washington was elected the first president of the United States. At this time, a constitution was
introduced that made the USA function through a federal system of government. This system of
government was called federal system because it was signed by 13 states that gave up their
freedom and independence in order to from a central government. When the 13 states decided to
join hands to make one nation, some states decide to keep their policy and trade negotiations and
the federal government could only do what the states permitted. This explains why the United
States is an example of federalism. This is a system in which the nation shares powers with the
lower level of government. The constitution grants two major types of powers to the congress: the
expressed and implied. The expressed power of congress stated in Article 1, gives the legislation

The Simpsons Nuclear Family Essay
In The Simpsons cartoon, the ideological construction of the nuclear family was challenged. The
nuclear family concept was debunked and exposed in this cartoon series. To begin, a nuclear
family has a variety of factors and elements which contribute to its unnatural appeal. A nuclear
family is primarily composed of a pair of heterosexual adults and their children. The nuclear family
was familiarized and primarily catered towards the white and middle class individuals. The
ideological construction of a nuclear familyis a homogenized ideology of what human kind and
society should be. The development of the nuclear family ideal was a cultural and political
response to World War II. It was a concept which perpetuated and expressed that any other form
of family was unacceptable, such as, families which were composed of a single parent, or
families with parents of the same sex. This ideal, therefore, created a false understanding of
normality. Due to political power, the nuclear family was an ideal pushed to control what was
occurring in the homes of individuals and a method of displaying the American Dream because
people were unaware of how such an ideal family could be created and maintained. By... Show

Pros And Cons Of Building A Border Wall
Should the United States build a border wall? Many will procrastinate about this but in the end
there will be an outcome with what will happen as far as building a border wall. There are many
Pros and Cons to this single objective. Starting off with a Pro, Many say this is a racist act or a
sign of weakness coming from our President Donald Trump. But in some cases this is an essential
thing for the United Statesto do. This walltoo many is wrong to do because our media has a big
head on racial point along society today. In the long run a wall could be really beneficial as a
commodity for the security of our great nation.
Jeff Corwin stated that If this border wall actually happens, it will be an environmental
catastrophe. Essentially, what it s doing is cutting through nature s bridge, which connects Central
America to North America and South America. Which in many cases this can be supported but
then again many people work very hard to become a citizen in the United States for many to
come across the border to get here illegally and to most this is unfair. To make another main
statement given the rising global instability in North Korea and the Middle East with a strong and
supportive border it would be harder for terrorist to get their hands on biological, chemical or
radiological weapons. With an insecure border it makes it easier for them to bring them into the
United States and launch a devastating attack on the United States.

American people and the authors among them were left disillusioned by the effects that war had on

Literary naturalism invited writers to examine human beings objectively, as a scientist studies
nature ( Am. Lit. Compton s). In portraying ugliness and cruelty, the authors refrained from
preaching about them; rather they left readers to draw their own conclusions about the life they
presented. Generally, these authors took a pessimistic view to portray a life that centered on the
negative part of man s existence. When dealing with society directly, naturalists generally detailed
the destruction of people without any sentiment. To do this, they wrote more open about society s
problems in a more open manner usually using nature as a symbol for society. Naturalistic
literature, like! realistic, served as a catalyst for change but, in contrast, was a little more like
propaganda. Even though only twenty years may have separated them, the transformation from
realism/naturalism to modernism was a long one in terms of how much society had changed. The
aforementioned rapid change in American society and America s relation with the rest of the
world left America in disarray. After the first World War, American society was divided and left
without definition. This called for a new age of literary expression to control and document the
isolationist fears , corruption , and disenchantment (Bradley 1339 1340) caused by the war. Authors

Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace
Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace
It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless,
emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing
our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that
emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much
is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book
that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts,
and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has
achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue
straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have
had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New
Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological
and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people
cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she
developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap,
but all equally important assets to any company. Her book has great impact because she deals with

BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY Education is generally accepted as a major source of
development of any civilised society. Francis Bacon in his words said Crafty men condemn studies;
simple men admire them, and wise men use them . The importance of education to the development
of the society has made all concerned stakeholders to be interested in its administration, planning
and dissemination to the entire populace. Religious missionaries, most especially Christian
missionaries were the fore runners of western education in Nigeria. Education was used by those
organisations as tool for grassroot evangelism as well as public enlightenment. Muslim communities
were faced with challenges of getting their children educated in western way without getting them
converted into Christianity. Various Muslim organisations rose up to this challenge lately by
establishing formal western oriented schools. Muslims are enjoined by Prophet Muhammed to

Compare And Contrast African Slavery Vs American Slavery
First, African slavery was very different than normal slavery, like in America before it was
abolished. In Africa, slaves had very different opportunities compared to the slaves of another
culture. Slaves in Africa could (depending on the location) be integrated into the slave owner s
family, or even obtain positions of military or administrative importance. Also, in early African
culture, slaves were used as a way to determine land ownership. Before colonial officials imposed
European law, African tribes distributed land based on the amount of laborers available to the
family, thus beginning regular raids on other tribes to obtain slaves and by extension: land. African
slaves became a major export of Africaas well. Arabs and Europeans began trading for slaves,
heavily affecting the economy of Africa. From this it is easily seen that African slaverywas very
different compared to the slavery of other cultures.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Involvement Of The Cyber Attack
In 2007 Estonia was one of the most developed nations in Europe in terms of information and
communication technology advancement. Estonia had a common practice of relying on the
internet for business transactions. In the early weeks of spring, Estonia was hit by a series of
politically motivated cyber attacks. Numerous parties and organisation suffered different forms of
denial of service. The main parties included the Estonian government agencies, schools, banks and
Internet Service Providers. The motivation for the cyber attackwas due to the fact that the Estonian
government made the decision to move a Soviet memorial of World War II from its previous or
initial location in central Tallinn to a military cemetery. This resulted to an outburst and riots in the
Estonian streets, violence towards the Ambassador of Estonia, Russia implementing indirect
economic sanctions and the most relevant, politically motivated cyber attack against Estonia. The
Estonian state wasn t critically affected from the cyber attack of 2007, since to a high extend the
state functions and objects of demanding information infrastructure were not interrupted. However,
the world received a wake up call on the new and emerging threats of cyber attacks.
Estonia is a small country in Europe which had an interesting history with Russia/Soviet Union in
the past decade. It was once part of Russia until they declared independence in 1918. However, in

Night in William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream...
Night in William Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream One of the recurring themes
throughout Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream is the time of day during which the play s
major action takes place: night. This being the case, there are certain words that are directly linked
to this theme that appear numerous times throughout the script. Four such words are moon,
moonlight, moonshine, and lunatic. Each comes from a feminine root that serves to identify the
women in the play as prizes to be won and controlled. It becomes clear when looking up the term
moon in the Oxford English Dictionary that the word is associated with the feminine. In poetry, for
instance, the moon is often personified, always as female... ... Show more content on

Theseus looks to the moon to measure how soon he will wed his fiancГ©, Hippolyta. Hippolyta
responds in kind, commenting, And then the moon, like to a silver bow / New bent in heaven,
shall behold the night / Of our solemnities (1.1.7, 14). Not only does the bride speak of the moon
as a measurement (for when it becomes a silver bow, or crescent, they wed), but she also speaks
of the night when the moon wanes as a time of festive marriage ceremonies. It is important to
take into account the character of Hippolyta in this instance. Having Theseus wed Hippolyta,
Queen of the Amazons, takes away Hippolyta s power as a strong female. She, too, is counting
the nights by the waning of the moon until she is legitimately wed and under the control of a
husband. The lesser characters, below royalty in the social order, take part in illicit happenings
veiled by night, as the moon oversees the activities of May Day/Midsummer s Eve. The moon is
considered a passive overseer or witness to (the actions of humankind) (Brown 1645). In the
forest of Oberon and Titania, the moon is truly an observer. Within a monologue by Titania, the
fairy queen announces, Therefore the moon, the governess of floods, / Pale in her anger, washes
all the air, / That rheumatic diseases do abound (2.1.102, 29). Titania speaks of her quarrel with
Oberon in this instance and how it affects all of nature. Their effect on the natural world is so
strong that when they

Online Communities.
Online Communities. To start off my essay I would like to stress on the fact that an online
community is not created online communities evolve and flourish. Most of the well built online
communities take time and effort to establish them. In this essay I will be covering topics like how
people interact in an online community, also will be looking at how to facilitate a successful online
discussion and how to evaluate the success or failure of an online community. With the dawn of the
new century and advances in computing, companies and organisations realised the importance of
getting a target market of potential customers and employee s which is based online and thus
providing a faster and easier way for mass communication and... Show more content on

They also have specific rules to follow for each community. The commercialization has also
affected the need for online secure and private places where employees can interact in a better
and faster medium than email or phone. As commercial organisations face up to modern
commercial pressures and react with measures such as downsizing and outsourcing,
(Hildreth,2004, vii) they have realised the need for creating communities which are virtual and
need to communicate with each other over large distances and different time zones. The reasons
for an online community for large business organizations is that they can get expert advice from
people who specialise in their fields and are appointed as online experts to help their sub
employees get maximum performance and their questions answered in faster way which will
directly help in their productivity. There can be announcements which can be posted and read
by everyone who is intended to read which is way better than email since they can discuss and
many people can read without numerous numbers of emails back and forth if they have any
doubts. It is a brilliant platform for them to discuss their opinions and can be flowed up by
people who have the same perspective or even if they are against a certain idea. In a article by

Breast Cancer Report
1.Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Human epidermal growth factor (HER2) is a specialised protein that has the ability to control the
growth and spread of certain cancers. Breast cancer is defined as HER2 positive (HER2+) when
there is an extremely high level of HER2 receptors present within the cancerous tumour of the breast
tissue (Macmillan, 2013).
1.2 Aims and objectives
This report aims to give an overview on breast cancer focusing on the HER2+ sub type of the
disease; it includes an overview of aetiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation,
diagnosis and treatment. It will also include how the advances in stratified medicine have helped
tailor treatment for patients suffering from the HER2+ form of breast cancer.

Breast cancer has been the most common cancer in the UK since 1997, in 2011 alone it was
accountable for 30% of all new cancer diagnosed in women (Cancer Research UK, 2014). Between
15 25% of newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer will test positive for the over expression of the
HER2 protein (Macmillan, 2014). The incidence of breast cancer in Northern Ireland is close to
the average for developed countries (NI Cancer Registry, 2011). However for the past 20 years
Northern Irelands incidence has been the lowest in the UK (Cancer Research UK, 2014).
3. Pathophysiology
Like all cancers, breast cancer develops because of defects in the DNA of a single cell. Cancers
arise when there is an accumulation of genetic mutations within genes that control cell growth and
division or the repair of damaged DNA. This causes damage allowing cells to grow and divide
uncontrollably forming a tumour. These mutations are called somatic mutations and are not
inherited (GHR, 2007) In addition to these genetic changes researchers have identified many other
factors that increase the risk of developing of breast cancer, these were previously mentioned.
4. Clinical Presentation
The symptoms of breast cancer can be categorised into early stage

The Middle-Range Theory Of Self-Care Of Chronic Illness
As of 2012, approximately half of all adults in the United States (U.S.) had at least one chronic
health condition and one fourth had more than one chronic health condition (Ward, Schiller,
Goodman, 2014). Self care is recognized to be an important component in the management of
chronic illnesses (Ausili, Masotto, Dall Ora, Salvini, Di Mauro, 2014; Coleman Newton, 2005;
Kennedy, Rogers, Bower, 2007). As knowledge in this area grows, there is a need for theories to
guide research and practice. The middle range theory of self care of chronic illness(MRTS CCI) is a
theory intended to clarify the concepts, assumptions, propositions, and factors affecting self care in
the context of chronic illness (Riegel, Jaarsma, Strömberg, 2012).... Show more content on

ability to master self care in complex situations (Riegel et al., 2012, p. 200). The authors
describe a relationship between processes of decision making and reflection, and sufficient or
insufficient self care. The description includes instances where individuals are unreflective, yet
achieve sufficient self care; however, they contend that the ideal combination for a person with
chronic illness is purposive, reflective, sufficient and reasoned self care (Riegel et al., 2012, p.

explanation or sources are provided for why reflective sufficient self care is more desirable. The

Mendel Grossman Research Paper
Mendel Grossman was the most well known photographer from the Lodz Ghetto. From the book,
With a Camera in the Ghetto, it tells about a resisting photographer that secretly takes photos of
the everyday life in the Lodz Ghetto. There were many photographers at the time, but Mendel
Grossman was the most well known of them all. Mendel Grossman was a Jewish photographer in
the Lodz Ghetto, born in 1913. He was a slim manof less than average height with sloping
shoulders, his coat hanging on him as if it were not cut to his size, even his shoes appearing too
large for him. His eyes expressed goodness, a clever smile played on his lips, his steps were
measured, and he always carried a stuffed briefcase. That was Mendel Grossman, a young man of a

photographs gained a measure of respect, and Mendel achieved recognition as an artist and
photographer. In the beginning of 1939, the management of TOZ, the Jewish organization for the
protection of children s health, approached him with an attractive proposition to prepare an album
of pictures of Jewish children. The accent was to be on the poor Jewish child in the streets.
Mendel enthusiastically accepted the proposition and was soon ready with a series of photographs.

Lolita Analysis
Vladimir Nabokov s novel Lolita was first published in France 1955, after being rejected by four
publishers whom feared they would be incarcerated. However, it s understandable why the story
of a young pubescent girl, being groomed by her paedophilic step father and then engaging in a
sexual relationship whilst embarking on a journey across America, didn t sit well with many
people, therefore was then banned from 1956 1959, for its obscenity and pornographic content in
France, United Kingdom, Argentina, South Africa, USA and New Zealand. The book has also
been described as highbrow pornography and absolutely disgusting . But why is the book deemed
so obscene and disgusting?
Instead of using the book as a moral compass and convicting and condemning the deep rooted
corruption that lurks within Humbert Humbert as a paedophile, the reader is assaulted and
softened by the power of appeal . In other words, the reader is strangely and obscenely seduced to
identify and indulge in their own desires, but by no means specifically perversion, to then cloud
the reader s judgement of whether Humbert is guilty or not. Surely for the reader to then condemn
him, they would be condemning themselves too? Nabokov himself states that I[he] is neither a
writer or a reader of didactic fiction. Lolita has no moral tow... fiction affords me to enter...
aesthetic bliss . The power of appeal is where the true obscenity lies; between the reader and the
narrator of Humbert. Regardless of

Brazilian Colonial Development Of Brazil
History
Most native tribes who were living in Brazil in the 1500 s thought they were descendants from
the first wave of migrants from North Asia. At the time of European discovery, the territory of
current day Brazil had as many as 2,000 nations and tribes, an estimated total population of nearly
3,000,000 Amerindians. ( Cia world factbook , 2016). It was discovered by a linguistic survey that
there were 188 indigenous languages with 155,000 speakers around 9000 BC. Initially Portugal had
little interest in Brazil, mainly because of high profits gained through commerce with Indochina.
After 1530, the Portuguese Crown devised the Hereditary Captaincies system to effectively
occupy its new colony, and later took direct control of the failed captaincies . ( Cia world fact
book , 2016). Sugar was the most important Brazilian Colonial product until the early 18th century.
Brazilian sugar at the time was stated as being high in quality, in comparison to those of other
nations. However, when other countries started to produce and offer sugar at a lower price, the
industry in Brazil faced a major crisis.
During the 18th century, an independent explorer named Bandeirante, discovered gold and
diamond in the state of Minas Gerais. Unfortunately, gold production declined towards the 18th
century, starting a period of relative stagnation of the Brazilian hinterland. The man power of
Amerindians and African slaves were greatly exploited in Brazil s colonial economy. ( Cia world

The Most Important Characteristics Of Odysseus A Real Hero
What makes a hero a real hero? We know what a hero is we know Batman, Superman, Iron man,
Captain America, Wonder Woman, and even Wolverine. We also know our everyday heroes
firefighters, police officers, medical personnel, and even political leaders. We also know all of our
favorite book characters. Sometimes we even think of ancient heroes, great warriors of old, but
have our expectations changed since then? After all we know some of these heroes just for
slaughtering their enemies. Do we define these people as heroes just because we ve always known
them this way. When I think of the most important characteristics that a herocan possibly have, three
traits come to mind, these are charisma, courage, and selflessness. Who better to put to the test with
this list than the ancient greek hero Odysseus.
Obviously a hero must be first and foremost smart enough to get through troubling puzzles,
challenges, and obstacles. It is important to note that charisma can be the main quality of a great
villain, as well as a great hero. Odysseus definitely has a lot of charisma, it is probably one of his
defining qualities. The odyssey is teeming with examples of how smart Odysseus is just for
example Odysseus is able to bargain with the witch Circe, go to the underworld and back, trick the
cyclops into letting them out, and secretly set up a revolution inside his own home. One example
of just how charismatic he is though takes a little bit of closer examination to discover, on line 16,

Miserable Routines In Ethan Frome By Edith Wharton
There was no way out none. He was a prisoner for life, and now his one ray of light to be
extinguished (Wharton 29). Miserable routines caused by terrible occurrences trappes Ethan
Frome every single day. Edith Wharton opposes the idea of following any routine. Wharton
expresses that routines and cycles prevent a person from expressing their own desires or achieving
their personal goals in life. These cycles prohibit a person from seeing changes within their
environment and possible opportunities that could improve their life. Even if a person breaks free
from a routine, an endless amount of reasons exist to pull them back in. Ethan Fromemomentarily
escapes from his daily routine to pursue his education, but not far into this break he has to return
in order to help his family. Ethan Frome somehow found a way out of his miserable routine, but
failed to take that exit; resulting in a life much worse than before. Finding a way out seems like a
reasonable solution to escape bad situations, but taking such a great risk to completely change one s
entire life, seems nearly impossible for any citizens of Starkfield. In the novella, Ethan Frome, Edith
Wharton exemplifies how routines deny a person from reaching their full potential through the
constant pull Ethan and other members of Starkfield receive to follow their normal, average routine
and not follow their desires.
The Frome household contained many illnesses over many years, bringing in people outside of the

The Effect Of Hatshepsut On The Metropolitan Museum Of...
In 1923, excavators from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, led by Herbert E. Winlock (Museum
Egyptologist), found fragments of statues belonging to the time of Hatshepsut when they began
clearing the area in front of the temples of Hatshepsut and Mentuhotep II. As a result further
excavations of this area were undertaken by the Metropolitan Museum during the seasons of 1926
27, 1927 28, and 1928 29. These excavations were predominantly carried out in two important
locations: a depression southeast of Deir el Bahri temple (also called the HatshepsutHole ) and a
quarry northeast of the temple. [1] The Metropolitan Museum crew started to reassemble these
fragments and by 1931 the reconstructions were complete and offered a rather large collection of
statues and objects from Hatshepsut s temple. More statues have survived of Hatshepsut than any
other Egyptian Pharaoh. Ironically, this was due to the destruction of these statues a mere twenty
years after they were created.
Hatshepsut ascended to the Egyptian throne in 1473 B.C and co ruled with her stepson and
nephew, Thutmose III. While Hatshepsut was not first woman in Egypt to be a king, she was
nonetheless, the most important in terms of the influence of her reign on the culture of ancient Egypt
. During her reign as Pharaoh there was an explosion of artistic creativity, which can be seen
clearly in the reconstruction of her temple at Deir el Bahri in western Thebes. Deir el Bahri is

  • 2. Positive Impacts Of The Crusades The Crusades resulted in a more negative way. The Crusades resulted in a more negative way because, many crusaders destroyed muslims property, and killed a lot of them. More reasons why the crusades were more negative was because they killed a lot of people including many innocent people like women and children. Crusaders also destroyed many buildings, synagogues and holy books, and Jews were being attacked. The last thing is the crusaders did things they were not supposed to do. For example they attacked other places when they were hired to do other things not including attacking anything, so they lied and did the opposite of what they were going to do. So, in result with this many people were angry and the crusadescame out as more negative than positive. The Crusades were a very harsh and gruesome wars between religions. This whole fight/war was all to take back the Holy Land. There are many reasons why the results of the Crusades were so negative. Document 4 states that Moreover, the assault of one christian people on another, when one of the goals of the fourth crusade was reunion of the Greek and Latin churches, made a split between Greek and Latin churches permanent . This basically states that they split up Greek and Latin churches from each other, and that Christians were being assaulted other people. This is important because this shows that the crusades were negative. This shows the crusades resulted in a negative way because they were separating people and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Racism In Manzanar And Mr. Wakatar Another large problem that impacted both societies was the racism that both the people of Manzanar and Cuba had to face. In many cases racism had severely affected both societies, whether it be economic, social, or even cultural ways. One of the effects of racism that affected both societies, took place during the aftermath. After the people were released from the camps, finding work and attempting to recreate what they used to have become surreal. In the book our main character says to Mr. Wakatsuki I have been living in this country nine years longer than you have. Do you realize that? Yet I am prevented by law from becoming a citizen. • 4. Software Defined Networking ( Sdn ) Essay Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a way to construct networks virtually with software that can be hosted on one machine. These software can solve issues such as cost, scalability, and security. Software defined networking is an approach to computer networking that allows network administrators to manage network services with lower level functionality. SDN is meant to address the fact that the static architecture of traditional networks doesn t support the dynamic, scalable computing and storage needs of more modern computing environments such as data centers. This is done by decoupling or disassociating the system that makes decisions about where traffic is sent from the underlying systems that forward traffic to the selected destination . SDN was commonly associated with the OpenFlow protocol since the latter s emergence in 2011. Since 2012, however, many companies have moved away from OpenFlow, and have embraced different techniques. These include Cisco Systems Open Network Environment and Nicira s network virtualization platform. SD WAN applies similar technology to a wide area network . History The origins of software defined networking began shortly after Sun Microsystems released Java in 1995. One of the first SDN projects was AT T s GeoPlex. AT T Labs Geoplex project members Michah Lerner, George Vanecek, Nino Vidovic, and Dado Vrsalovic leveraged the network APIs and dynamic aspects of the Java language as a means to implement middleware networks. ... • 5. Authorship, Audience And Genre Of The Gospel Of Matthew 1.Authorship, audience and genre of the Gospel of Matthew Authorship: Most scholars, but not R.T. France (2007, pp14 22), believe that Matthew s Gospel was written by a scribe, not the Apostle Matthew and that it was written approximately between AD 80 90. France states that if the book was written at this time it was within Matthew s lifetime, and thus authorship cannot be proven. A key reason pointing to the Gospel being written by a scribe is that the Gospel was written in Greek and that the author is very familiar with the Hebrew Bible, connecting his five discourses with Hebrew Scriptures. Even though tax collectors, like Matthew, were known to be literate it is not necessarily true that they would be fluent in Hebrew, Aramaic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tell the story of Jesus birth, Passion, Death and Resurrection. The direct teachings of Jesus give instructions of how to live as Christians and the Parables were used in the Gospel to immediately confront us with a truth and evoke a change. (Fee Stuart,2003, p. 152). The five major discourses of Matthew s Gospel are centred around five lengthy Sermons using parables to make a point and call the people to make a change. 2.Brief synopsis of Matthew 16:13 23 Matthew 16: 13 23 is the confession of Peter of Jesus true identity and the Prophecy of Jesus death and resurrection. In previous chapters, the real identity of Jesus is unknown the crowds wonder if he is the Son of David (Matt 12:23), the disciples previously said that he was the Son of God (Matt 8:29, 14:33) and Jesus himself identifies himself as the Son of Man (Matt 10: 23; 2:8; 12:40) and even likening himself to a Prophet (Matt 13:57). In Chapter 16, Jesus asked His disciples who people said He was, and who they, His disciples, think He was. This comes at a point of time where the disciples have been witness to the Pharisees and Sadducees wanting to test Jesus (Matt 16:1) and Jesus refusal to do so and when Jesus told them to beware of the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees (Matt 16:12). It is here that Simon Peter answers You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God (Matt 16:13 16). Jesus acknowledges this truth and tells Peter that the only way he could ... • 7. Disadvantages Of Recycling Plastic In the world today, plastic bags are used just about everywhere. This is due to their convenience, low cost, and durability. Additionally, plastic bags can be found just about everywhere, in ditches, in cornfields, and in the Rappahannock River. It results in a number of environmental problems for animals, as it also does for humans. For this reason, communities should start recycling plastic bags as much as possible and keep them out of harm s way. It is possible to change the plastic bags impact. New rules and regulations should be set to prevent the environmental problems. Although plastic bags cause many problems, they are not as worse as the popular alternative, paper bags, or cotton bags. Cotton made bags would need to be washed in hot... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the government banned plastic bags for good, then the result would be an increase in paper bags. This would result in even more environmental disadvantages. Both bags consume about the same amount of energy, but in different ways. Paper bags cause a greater amount of water pollutionand they also cause trees to be removed. Trees are essential because they need to be present to absorb carbon dioxide in the air. Paper bags also emit much more air pollution throughout their production. Plastic bags are made from petroleum which in the end becomes more dangerous for wildlife consumption, because of the element being worse for animals rather than paper. This is the only main issue for plastic bags, which can be prevented. According to Lilianfield, paper emits 80 percent more greenhouse gases, it uses three times the amount of water it takes to make plastic bags, and paper bags generate 80 percent more solid waste (Source F). Just because disadvantages come with a product or service, does not mean that the public should quickly change to a different one, without analyzing how much worse a product is. • 8. The Use Of Tone In Robert Browning s My Last Duchess There is nothing more telling of an individual than the way they present themselves. Speech is an incredibly powerful means of expression, and often gives deeper insight into who one is as a person. My Last Duchess by Robert Browning explores the complexity of tone in a way that is both effective and powerful. The poem is narrated by the Dukeof Ferrara, who is speaking to an envoy about a painting of his previous duchess. He recounts the memories behind the artwork in an ominous and snide manner, giving the reader insight on the nature of their relationship. Tone is a major literary element in the poem that not only paints the Duke as a monster, but also makes the piece more effective. Browning utilizes subtle figurative language that is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The irony in his tone is used primarily when the Duke postulates how his wife behaved around other men. His sarcastic, demeaning speech shines through when he states she had a heart how shall I say? too soon made glad (21 22). Not only does this line deliver verbal irony, it also gives insight on the Duke s perception of his wife. Though he has no concrete evidence for her suspicious behavior, he does not hesitate to passively critique her. Browning additionally develops this critical personality when the Duke fantasizes about the gifts his wife received from other men. He mentions a bough of cherries some officious fool broke in the orchard for her (27 28) and how this gift would draw from her alike the approving speech (30). Though a gift of cherries is nothing significant, the Duke is annoyed by it. He does not want his wife to thank the men, because her approving speech is too generous and flirtatious. The image of the cherries from the orchard is something that the Duke s mind curated. It s his imagination, and that s a technique Browning utilizes to emphasize the Duke s jealous personality. The imagery itself is powerful, but when paired with the images created by the Duke s tone, the poem gains even more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Gladstone s Consolidation Of Power Essay Historically in British history, the monarch had absolute power over political policies. The beginning of the nineteenth century opened up the door for a British society in which the monarch became a ceremonial figure. Political power had been transferred from the monarch to Parliament and more specifically the Prime Minister. A significant piece of the nineteenth century British politics would be dominated by two figures, William Gladstone and Benjamin Disraeli. These two men would effectively forge a monopoly over British politics for the better part of thirty years in a battle that encapsulated the land. Though Gladstone would have lowly political beginnings, he would achieve success exemplified in his multiple terms as Prime Minister. His formation of the Liberal party enabled him to gain signifiant Parliamentary power at a relatively early age in his political career. Through his multiple years at the helm of British politics, Gladstone was able to lead the nation towards reform, through he would hold to some traditional policies of previous Prime Ministers. • 12. Impact Of The Imperial Rule On West African Politics Essay Senegal History Despite its small size, Senegal is an important player in West African politics. It has had a long history, from its days as a collection of tribal kingdoms, to its existence under French rule and eventual decolonization, to its place today as a model of peaceful democracy ( it is one of the few African states that has managed to avoid military or political coups since its independence in 1960 (Anderson, 2013)). Senegal has retained much of its traditional African values as well as adapted to traditional European ideals (Gellar, 1995). France and other European countries have had a profound effect on the social, political and economic structures Senegal has in place today. By analyzing the previous structures developed by the Africans and then comparing them to the placed upon them by the French, one can truly begin to understand the extent of the transformation that has occurred. Before the imperial rule in the Senegambia area, governing methods were largely focused upon a single dominant power ruling over various villages, towns, and social groups that were incorporated into the dominant political unit (Gellar, 1995). The excessive land space to population ratio at the time meant that controlling vast amounts of land did not determine a kingdom s power, it was instead based upon the amount of people under their rule. Because there was little competition for territory, a ruling government did not have permanent borders (Gellar, 1995). This is unlike ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By 1860, the nation had been at odds mostly up to that point regarding questions of states rights and slavery in the territories. Southerners were livid over the preparation by an abolitionist, John Brown, to establish a slave uprising at Harper Ferry, Virginia. This event garnered headlines all over the nation in newspapers and magazines. On the other hand, the Northern Republic seemed equally infuriated by the Supreme Court verdict in the case of Dred Scott v. Stanford, which affirmed free soil unconstitutional. The Northern Democrats, however, struggled to convince the Americans that their guidelines of popular sovereignty still made sense. Enter the presidential election of 1860, which brought these tribulations to a clash with dramatic cost. The Democratic Party divided into three groups along their provincial lines, with each person vying for control of the party and each holding dissimilar ideas about how to deal with servitude in the West. Their candidates consisted of John C. Breckinride, John Bell, and Stephen A. Douglas; their efforts would be rubbish, however, as Abraham Lincoln would be triumphant for the Republican Party. Compton s). In portraying ugliness and cruelty, the authors refrained from preaching about them; rather they left readers to draw their own conclusions about the life they presented. Generally, these authors took a pessimistic view to portray a life that centered on the negative part of man s existence. When dealing with society directly, naturalists generally detailed the destruction of people without any sentiment. To do this, they wrote more open about society s problems in a more open manner usually using nature as a symbol for society. Naturalistic literature, like! realistic, served as a catalyst for change but, in contrast, was a little more like propaganda. Even though only twenty years may have separated them, the transformation from realism/naturalism to modernism was a long one in terms of how much society had changed. The aforementioned rapid change in American society and America s relation with the rest of the world left America in disarray. After the first World War, American society was divided and left without definition. • 32. Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless, emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts, and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap, but all equally important assets to any company. Hippolyta responds in kind, commenting, And then the moon, like to a silver bow / New bent in heaven, shall behold the night / Of our solemnities (1.1.7, 14). Not only does the bride speak of the moon as a measurement (for when it becomes a silver bow, or crescent, they wed), but she also speaks of the night when the moon wanes as a time of festive marriage ceremonies. It is important to take into account the character of Hippolyta in this instance. Having Theseus wed Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, takes away Hippolyta s power as a strong female. She, too, is counting the nights by the waning of the moon until she is legitimately wed and under the control of a husband. The lesser characters, below royalty in the social order, take part in illicit happenings veiled by night, as the moon oversees the activities of May Day/Midsummer s Eve. The Middle-Range Theory Of Self-Care Of Chronic Illness As of 2012, approximately half of all adults in the United States (U.S.) had at least one chronic health condition and one fourth had more than one chronic health condition (Ward, Schiller, Goodman, 2014). I eagerly settled in, anxiously and excitedly waiting to see how J.J. Abrams continued the anthology of his 2008 movie, Cloverfield, an alien monster movie recorded shaky cam style (he has been very ambiguous on how the films connect...always and forever keeping fans at bay). Even before the previews began, I was theorizing on whether or not there would be aliens, if John Goodman s character was telling the truth about an attack, and what it was the woman saw outside the window. 200 WARNING: Minor spoilers ahead! 10 Cloverfield Lane was a highly anticipated film for J.J. Abrams fans once the well kept secret of its existence was revealed (a characteristic the production company Bad Robot is known for) mere months before its debut. The tagline for the film, Monsters come in many forms , as well as the trailer were both very ambiguous in nature and left the viewers with several unanswered questions. It turns out, this was the perfect way to watch the movie, with very little knowledge about it. The film follows the story of Michelle, a fashion design student who, after running out on her fiancГ©e, is involved in a car crash and ends up in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Speed Control of Linear Induction Motor Essay Executive Summary VVVF drives used to control the speed of LIM, many industrial automation worldwide such as Trains drives, Automatic Screen Door, Moving Walkway, Lift and Escalator, etc., varying the speed of the drive may save energy compared with other techniques for flow control. This mid term report prepared for detailing how to design and build the structure of LabVIEW simulation for speed control of Linear induction motor and explaining the characteristic of V/F Speed control for Induction motor obtain the data by LabVIEW. The design and build of simulation has two parts, part one is simulation of LED indicator for motor speed recognize and part 2 is simulation of V/F speed control of Linear induction motor. Wherein the many equipment of Industrial Automation worldwide were used the V/F Speed Control of Linear Induction Motor which the Trains themselves, Automatic Screen Door, Moving Walkway, Lift and Escalator etc. Moreover, the MTR would also produce energy in a much cleaner, more energy saving, and more sustainable manner. The neglect of this energy source is restricting the MTR from increasing its sustainability and accessibility. Literature search Methods of Achieving Sustainability In this project suggests several ways to make the system more sustainable. (Variable speed appliance for energy saving included curtain pullers, trains themselves, automatic screen door, moving walkway, lift and escalator, compressors and pumps, catapults and launchers.) There are many discussed with respect to their Efficiency of use and Conservation . These are defined as follows: пЃ¬Conservation: Changing policy and/or processes of the MTR system so that it requires less energy to operate. пЃ¬Efficiency of Use: Changing the nature of technologies within the MTR so that they require less energy to operate. While both these approaches are valid ways of increasing sustainability, it is important to tackle the problem of sustainability from numerous angles. It can be assumed that developments will be made to achieve both conservation and high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. The Most Important Characteristics Of Odysseus A Real Hero What makes a hero a real hero? We know what a hero is we know Batman, Superman, Iron man, Captain America, Wonder Woman, and even Wolverine. We also know our everyday heroes firefighters, police officers, medical personnel, and even political leaders. We also know all of our favorite book characters. Sometimes we even think of ancient heroes, great warriors of old, but have our expectations changed since then? After all we know some of these heroes just for slaughtering their enemies. Do we define these people as heroes just because we ve always known them this way. When I think of the most important characteristics that a herocan possibly have, three traits come to mind, these are charisma, courage, and selflessness. Who better to put to the test with this list than the ancient greek hero Odysseus. • 54. Miserable Routines In Ethan Frome By Edith Wharton There was no way out none. He was a prisoner for life, and now his one ray of light to be extinguished (Wharton 29). Miserable routines caused by terrible occurrences trappes Ethan Frome every single day. Edith Wharton opposes the idea of following any routine. Wharton expresses that routines and cycles prevent a person from expressing their own desires or achieving their personal goals in life. These cycles prohibit a person from seeing changes within their environment and possible opportunities that could improve their life. Even if a person breaks free from a routine, an endless amount of reasons exist to pull them back in. Ethan Fromemomentarily escapes from his daily routine to pursue his education, but not far into this break he has to return in order to help his family. Ethan Frome somehow found a way out of his miserable routine, but failed to take that exit; resulting in a life much worse than before. Finding a way out seems like a reasonable solution to escape bad situations, but taking such a great risk to completely change one s entire life, seems nearly impossible for any citizens of Starkfield. In the novella, Ethan Frome, Edith Wharton exemplifies how routines deny a person from reaching their full potential through the constant pull Ethan and other members of Starkfield receive to follow their normal, average routine and not follow their desires. The Frome household contained many illnesses over many years, bringing in people outside of the immediate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. The Effect Of Hatshepsut On The Metropolitan Museum Of... In 1923, excavators from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, led by Herbert E. Winlock (Museum Egyptologist), found fragments of statues belonging to the time of Hatshepsut when they began clearing the area in front of the temples of Hatshepsut and Mentuhotep II. As a result further excavations of this area were undertaken by the Metropolitan Museum during the seasons of 1926 27, 1927 28, and 1928 29. These excavations were predominantly carried out in two important locations: a depression southeast of Deir el Bahri temple (also called the HatshepsutHole ) and a quarry northeast of the temple. [1] The Metropolitan Museum crew started to reassemble these fragments and by 1931 the reconstructions were complete and offered a rather large collection of statues and objects from Hatshepsut s temple. More statues have survived of Hatshepsut than any other Egyptian Pharaoh. Ironically, this was due to the destruction of these statues a mere twenty years after they were created. Hatshepsut ascended to the Egyptian throne in 1473 B.C and co ruled with her stepson and nephew, Thutmose III. While Hatshepsut was not first woman in Egypt to be a king, she was nonetheless, the most important in terms of the influence of her reign on the culture of ancient Egypt . During her reign as Pharaoh there was an explosion of artistic creativity, which can be seen clearly in the reconstruction of her temple at Deir el Bahri in western Thebes. Deir el Bahri is considered to be one of the great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
