Have you ever wondered if authors are trying to teach you something
as you read? This message or main idea is called the theme of a book. In
order to find the themes of a novel, one must look at the big topics. C.S.
Lewis has many big topics in his novel The Lion, the Witch, and the
Wardrobe, but three of the most important are courage, hope, and
sacrifice.

"For Narnia (150)." As Peter steps onto the
battlefield in C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and
the Wardrobe, he utters these words. Peter, his
siblings, and the Narnians help Lewis' readers
see the big topics of courage, hope, and sacrifice
in order to learn important lessons.
