    Underline the adjectives and draw an arrow to the noun or
    pronoun it modifies.

    1. Some successful inventors are mature scientists.

    2. Chester Greenwood, however, was a creative teenager
    when he made the first pair of earmuffs.

    3. Chester's cold, red ears bothered him during the harsh
    Northeastern winters.

    4. He didn't like the itchy woolen mufflers.

    5. One day, Chester had a brilliant idea.

    6. He took a piece of flexible wire.

    Lesson 2: A review!

    Predicate Adjectives: follows a linking verb and describes the
    subject.
     Examples:
     1. Windshield wipers are common today.

     2. Electric trolleys seemed dangerous.

     3. The drivers were alert.

     4. The windshields looked blurry and cloudy.

     5. The windshields became clean when drivers rubbed them.

     6. Anderson was creative, so she invented a windshield wiper.
