People's Bank History And Introduction
People's Bank is a state-owned commercial Bank in Sri Lanka. Second largest
commercial bank in Sri Lanka. Established on 1 July 1961

The marketing mix (7P's) is the combination of seven elements of marketing that
aim to work together to achieve the objectives of a marketing strategy. These 7
elements are:
1. product
2. PRICE
3. place
4. promotion
5. people
6. process
7. physical Evidence
Product in people's bank
People’s bank provides the following services to its customers as a product
1.Acceptance of public deposits
One of the main service provided by the people’s bank is accepting deposits. Deposit are
accepted under different account.

Fixed deposit
2.Providing Loans
People’s bank offers wide range of loans to customers and businesses. There are,
Housing loan- Jayaniwasa loan, Dream loan
Vehicle loan-Auto loan
Professional loan- People’s professional
Educational loan- Wisdom loan
3.Pawning Service

4.Auto Mated Banking Facilities.
This means, that most of banking activities can be done through ATM. It provides
wide range of activities such as cash withdrawals, deposits, check the balance, cheque deposit
and bill payments.
5.Credit/Debit card facilities
People’s Debit card, Gold/ Silver platinum credit cards
6.Buying And Selling Foreign Exchange
This means buying foreign exchange for customers and selling foreign exchange to them
7.E-Banking Service
This means doing banking activities through the digital media. People’s bank provides
various apps and internet facilities for this purpose.
Ex- people’s wave app, people’s web personal, people’s web corporate, people’s WYN, people’s wiz
8.Safety Lockers
A type of safe set up to protect personal items such as gold, silver, jewelry, and valuables.

• People’s bank charges different prices/interest for it’s different services . People’s
bank also charges different fees for the various services it provides to their
customers . People’s bank also charges the following fees from its customers.

4. Credit and service charge
5. E banking and mobile banking
Place in people's bank
• On the ‘place' of a branch, suitable location and convenience
determine the choice of a bank by a customer. A bulk of the banking
business for any branch should come from its immediate
neighborhood.

Promotion In People’s Bank
• This P covers idea of making product or service known to the public.
Furthermore, this could be in the forms of various advertisements, SEO,
SEM, sponsorship, etc. It’s key to make the product known to acquire new
customers – increasing sales.
 People’s bank uses mainly television, radio and print media for promotion.
 The bank always strives to provide only factual information when using
the media or other promotional materials.
 They present information in a way that is easy and simple to understand
and careful not to include misleading information.
 All relevant staff members aware of the information provided via
advertisement.
• Advertising is another marketing tool used by the bank of the
promotion of its business activities.
People In People’s Bank
• People are not just those who you are selling and advertising to. Its mean
people who are involved in selling a product or service, designing it,
managing teams, representing customers… the list goes on. It includes
staff, sales people, customer service team and anyone involved in the
marketing and sales process.
• People’s bank has always been committed to providing good service to its
customers,

 Providing a training with recruitment
 Providing higher salaries and bonus
 Promotion of suitable persons and increase of salaries

Process constitutes the overall procedure involved in using the
services offered by the bank.
The process should be customer friendly.
The overall process is too complicated than the customer may not be
inclined to use such services.

Generally a service transaction involves the transaction
of the service provider with the customer in a service
environment.
 Physical evidence is termed as the social environment
along with the tangible cues. Physical evidence is any
tangible commodities that facilitate performance
communication of the service.

to tangibles their service. They includes,
