The SNAP tool assesses a country's existing adaptation activities, strategic goals, needs and gaps based on 7 success factors for effective NAP processes identified in UNFCCC guidance. It does this through a participatory stakeholder workshop using group discussion and individual assessment. The results provide a common understanding of where a country stands in the NAP process and indications for developing a roadmap to prioritize success factors and specific adaptation activities. An example application of the SNAP tool in Tunisia is presented.
