The Crown Estate has historically managed the sovereign's lands to generate sustainable revenue over the long term. It now manages the UK seabed, leasing areas for offshore wind and other marine renewable energy. This presentation discusses The Crown Estate's role in enabling offshore wind, including leasing rounds, strategic workstreams to reduce costs and risks, and supporting development of new technologies like floating wind. Upcoming activities include negotiating agreements for test and demonstration floating wind projects and variations to existing offshore wind projects. The Crown Estate aims to support developing offshore wind to provide low-cost, renewable energy for the UK.
