- The ICT Strategy needs to be anchored in a documented Enterprise Architecture and an agreed set of ICT Principles. The urgent need for an agreed documented Enterprise Architecture at all levels – Business Process, Business Application, Data, Techinical Environment, and Infrastructure.

- To streamline statistics production and the development and implementation of corporate systems to underpin the operation of the business. 2. This should be implemented as part of architecture function to leverage on resource and processes. The presence of a documented enterprise architecture (EA) would facilitate coherence in all new developments, ensuring that, besides addressing a current or urgent business need, each development is contributing towards the longer-term goal position. In other words each development represents a building block of functionality as well as being a solution to the current business need. A documented EA would also act as a very effective communication tool, and provide a clear guiding vision for the IT Directorate and all business units in the CSO. With a documented EA , it is easier for IT staff to focus on and give appropriate priority to developments that are leading to the long-term vision for the office. It is easier also for other business units to have a clear understanding of the current IT Strategy and how IT contributes to the business needs and priorities..
