REASONS
Understand the reasons behind behaviors of children and
think of responses accordingly
Dig deeper into what might be happening in a particular
moment or situation that is making the child angry or cranky

3. 2. HELP CHILDREN REFOCUS
Help children refocus on something else in case of potentially
harmful actions
Instead of stopping them or ordering them not to do a
particular thing, give them options of choosing a different
activity

4. 3. SAY ‘YES’ TOO!
Frequent ‘No’ can lead to resentment and resistance.
Learn to say ‘Yes’ instead of ‘No’ every time

5. Help children to see the impacts of their actions on others,
but not by evoking shame or labeling them as ‘bad’ guys.
Coach them to regulate their emotions.
