The author completed a 400-hour internship with a pediatric occupational therapist at Early Childhood Intervention. In their evaluation, the therapist expressed that the author had improved over the course of the internship and made progress. The author's strengths included dependability, self-reliance, neatness, discretion, consumer skills, work habits, and time management. Weaknesses included interpersonal relationships, response to criticism, and verbal communication, but the author was working to improve these areas. The experience gave the author confidence to pursue a career in pediatric occupational therapy.
Learning how to properly communicate in any scenario is monumental for anyone, most especially a nurse. Nurses are often overworked, without breaks or food, and in stressful life-or-death situations. Nurses must also communicate not only with the patients, but their families too. Above all else, nurses must communicate with the multiple disciplines within the medical field; it is important to learn how and to live it.

This is the actual final version used in a talk on Improving the mental health of English language teachers - 10 April 2018. Including the quotation about the perception of stress.
Guidance and Counselling for children. The basic skills which need to be mastered by a counselor to provide effective service.
Attending skills, listening skills, paying attention skills, giving responses skills, identifying problems skills and intervention skills.
This is uploaded for Mizo church youth leaders like TKP, KTP, SAY etc as they are going to take part and take steps in this area. They had passed resolution in their conference.
It haunts me a lot after seeing my clients being nervous to enter my chamber; the role of a counsellor is nothing but to increase the life skill of living that they lack.

Leadership
Evidenced by Managing, Listening Effectively, and Empathizing
Leadership is the process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others towards the achievement of a goal. I have been a paraprofessional in a self-contained special education classroom for the past four years in Texarkana Independent School District. I have learned that in order to be an effective leader one must acquire a great understanding of active listening, managing others in regards to safety, and empathizing with both students and staff, respectively. Thanks to this learning process, I am more knowledgeable in the classroom where my leadership skills are put to use on a continual basis. This knowledge is evidenced daily by managing student behaviors to ensure safety, listening effectively to other staff members, learning how to empathize with coworkers, and modeling for others the importance of leadership in and around the school.
LEADERSHIP: MANAGING
CONCRETE EXPERIENCE
It has been my experience that others often do not interject because they know I am capable and consistent with my students’ behavior expectations. If there are comments, others are usually asking if I require any assistance. I can often be heard saying routine behavior expectation statements, “hands down”, “walking feet”, and/or “finish”. The actions taken by me is one of an active observer. I will always try and give my students ample response time when given a directive to ensure they are successful but there are times when I must implement the desired behavior on the student’s behalf. In my current role as a special education paraprofessional, I am able to utilize leadership and management techniques in regards to student behavior on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis. Specific leadership and behavior management techniques include cueing the students to perform different tasks that are assigned in the classroom. I accomplish this by providing varying degrees of prompting (physical, gestural, and verbal), and also redirecting the student back to the desired behavior or activity. Most, if not all of these take place within the classroom walls, but can also occur anywhere within the building at any given time. My role is often viewed of that as support to the classroom teacher, but a lot of the times I am in a one-on-one situation with a student during a difficult time, behaviorally speaking.
REFLECTIVE OBSERVATION
The effects of leadership in regards to the management of behaviors can be described and analyzed in several examples. First, is the aspect of safety; I can only imagine how chaotic our classroom would run if I were not able to actively implement behavior accommodations in my classroom. The use of the pictures and verbal/physical prompts provide the necessary scaffolding to ensure my students’ successes, whatever those might be. .

Introduction
The purpose of studying the raw materials for myself includes exploring, discovering, and
gathering as much information as possible, which I may use to portray and explain my life. Every
person has different perceptions, characters, and personalities. These unique characteristics
influence the type of life and behavior that a person has. The raw materials for myself that I will
address in this paper include my strengths, potential strengths, faults, bad habits, interests, desires,
passions, personality, and core values. These raw materials will guide me in life and will ensure
that I live a fulfilling presence as much as I can.

Strengths
Most of the time, people assume that they know their strengths. I also believed that I knew
mines. However, it was mandatory to perform a test that would indicate the reality. I followed the
link provided in the assignment description and requirements. It redirected me to "Free Aptitude
Test for Strengths and Weaknesses [Full]." Another link provided by the instructor shifted me to
the "Assessment: Find Your Strengths" website. I answered the questions presented on the two
websites and received the results indicating my strengths. I also sought the feedback of my friends
about my strengths. That would enable me to compare their input and the outcomes I received
from the tests.
From the assessments, my most significant strength was curiosity. I scored 100% for this
strength. Curiosity is the zeal to keep on learning and dealing with challenging situations, in this
case. The assessment results indicated that I am always actively involved in all the projects as
much as possible. It also suggests that I love learning. I expose myself to new fields of learning
and a unique knowledge environment to keep my knowledge growing. The test results also
indicated that I prefer learning by teaching others and associating with people who enjoy learning.
The second-ranked strength was balance. It had a score of 94%. The outcomes of this
questionnaire indicated that I always love time management, and I push for it whenever I am. The
results also showed that I am not too fond of order, and I try my best to restore order in chaotic
situations. And I consider that it is accurate.
My third strength, as revealed by the assessment results, was communication. The results
showed that I am a good listener, and I volunteer to help in fostering engaging presentations.
Moreover, I am an excellent public orator, and I love promoting communication in my
relationships.

My fourth strength was teamwork. It had a score of 94%. The results of the assessment
indicate that I organize my life to my close relationships. It also suggested that I value loyalty;
therefore, I have a high likelihood of maintaining the same connections in my life. Additionally, it

Self-Reflection
I took this course with a premise that it would be an easy course, after all I have been a member in many organizations in the last 20 years. In my mind, there was nothing in this course that I have not seen or experience; I have experienced the theory that this course is going to teach. This course was mainly for the new generation that never has stepped into the workforce or has done it for a short period of time. Well I can honestly say that this was not the case, not only did I have to participate, listen to other perspectives, but also present my own case utilizing what I have learn, explaining the reasoning behind the cause and effect of the case.
Indeed, many of the subjects lectured were areas that I had experienced or had to deal with, and even though I knew how to approach the situation, I did not know the cause or reasoning behind it. For example, Chapter 3 gave me in insight on perceptual biases, how we perceive people effect their production or efficiency. I am sadly aware now that I have been seeing people differently without even realizing it. How the team halo effect and similar-to-me-effect had caused people to think that I show favoritism to some of my workers. What is worse how I have fallen exercised the Golem effect in the past, perceiving that certain workers with similar work appearances/ethics would perform the same way as others in the past. Failing to see that work performance is based on many variables.
Do to this course I have a better understanding of why my workers perform the way they do. This course has open my eyes to many of the errors we are currently doing at my company, and I am currently applying the knowledge I have learned. In the past, our company has had a turnover of 45%, I thought the cause was due to competitive pay around the area, because we are surrounded by many other DC’s. However, I made some changes in my area, after learning that people are not always motivated by pay, but instead look forward to being challenged and want to job satisfaction.
After empowering some of my leads and key associates, as well as warehouse workers, our turnover has dropped to 35%. I had a meeting with each group and asked for their input, to my surprise each group had many things to add. With their help, we improved some of the inefficiencies, and by applying some tips from chapter 4 “boosting employees’ self-efficacy”, not only did our turnover dropped, but also our efficiency increased.
I am glad that I toke this course, not only was it a challenge and eye opener, but also a great tool that has helped me improve in my career. Now that I have more time, I will be dissecting the book and plan to take more courses like this to improve my knowledge of not only for career improvement, but also to become a better manager. Thank you for your guidance and the how you taught your course, I know that it was challenging at times, but saw how what y ...

1. 400-Hour Narrative
I have successfully completed my internship of 400 hours with a pediatric
occupational therapist at Early Childhood Intervention also known as ECI. I feel
confident in myself that I successfully improved my self as a person. This experience
has given me the confidence to work on my weaknesses and refine my strengths for
better results as a striving health professional. When comparing my 200-hour
evaluation with my 400-hour evaluation, the therapist has confidently expressed my
improvement and the progress I’ve made throughout the time spent with him.
My strengths included: Dependability, self-reliance, neatness, discreetness,
consumers, work habits, and organization of time. My dependability was one of my
improved skills. I focused on completing my duties, while using my judgment on
certain jobs. As stated before, one of my duties is to assist the babies with tracking
to work on their eyes muscles. I started taking initiative by using my judgment and
applying the tracking exercise when the time felt appropriate, instead of waiting to
be told. I can confidently complete this exercise with little to no direction while
multitasking my responsibilities such as, communicating with the families. I always
explain in detail of what the exercise accomplishes and answer any other questions
they may have.
Neatness was another strength of mine; I work with various amounts of
babies younger than 3 years of age every day during the week. Being clean is a
major importance of mine because babies are susceptible of getting ill from their
weak immune systems. I also meet the families of the children and this entitles to
dress suitably at all times, so first impressions are commendable.
2. My discreetness was another strength of mine. I continuously do my best
stay professional and put my personal beliefs aside to focus on the parents concerns
of their child. I am aware of the HIPPA rules; I understand that the names and
diagnosis of the babies are confidential. I always respect the patient’s home and
always try to keep my boundaries. I have learned to not discuss a previous patient
seen, in front of other families. If the situation is related, I use very vague vocabulary
and vague comparisons describing other cases seen. Parents often need comfort that
some things are commonly seen, but I can still get my point across professionally for
the parents to understand.
Another strength of mine includes my consumer skills, which were most
commendable. I have learned and refined this skill to change my approach with the
different families and situations I am placed with. The therapist commends my
ability to communicate well with the families, while using my personality to work
with all circumstances. Organization of time was my strongest area because I
understand the importance of valuing someone else’s time. I understand that
showing up on time displays reliability and respect. I have worked on this skill by
writing everything down. I have accepted that I will not remember everything, so I
religiously write everything down while organizing events on my calendar. This
helps me to stay on track of times and places scheduled for the week.
There were a few weaknesses that were better than average, but wasn’t
considered a perfect score. These included: interpersonal relationships, response to
criticism, and verbal communication. My interpersonal relationship skill is still
being refined. I always do my best to remain professional with staff. I often assist the
3. OT assistants when working with the babies because I feel strongly that results
display a stronger effect when we can work as a team. I do have the habit of
interrupting or talking over the staff due to excitement. I have began writing down
my thoughts and comments, while patiently waiting for the others to finish
speaking. The therapist has credited my professionalism in the work atmosphere
and my ability to transition between conversations, while staying on tasks. I feel
confident when speaking to people; I just need to work on decreasing my habit of
interrupting.
My response to criticism can be worked on further. I have learned to take
criticism constructively from the therapist and I always ask questions to verify the
instruction. I’m working on this skill by improving my attitude and facial
expressions when corrected. I strongly feel it is an important part of the learning
process and I want to keep a positive attitude when receiving advice. Another skill
to be improved is verbal communication. The therapist expresses that my
communication skills are good. I communicate well with co-workers/staff and I
understand the meaning of respect. I feel that I can talk to the families well and I
can explain the exercises enough for them to understand.
This experience has given me the confidence to continue working on my
weaknesses and refine my strengths for worthy recognition as a striving health
professional. I started this journey unsure of what area of practice I wanted to
pursue. I plan on continuing my education to pursue a career in pediatric
occupational therapy in outpatient care.
