The Energa Biogas Programme aims to develop over 200 MW of biogas production capacity by 2020. Energa Group's key activities include electricity production, sale, and distribution across a 75,000 square kilometer service area. The biogas programme will focus on agricultural, district, and recycling biogas plants using manure, agricultural waste, and organic waste from various industries. Energa Bio Ltd will lead project development and prefers plants from 1-2 MW, offering strategic investment, electricity and certificate purchases, and technical support to biomass partners interested in constructing biogas plants.

What type of biogas plants do we have in mind ?
• agricultural biogas plants – main substrates: excrements from
livestock husbandry, pig and poultry farming (e.g. manure and liquid
manure) and agrobiomass (e.g. corn, beet).
• district biogas plants – in the area of district landfill sites and water
treatment plants.

– abattoirs, meat processing plants, distilleries and breweries.
– food producers and food processing plants
– catering businesses,
– waste management and recycling plants.

5. Energa Biogas Programme
How will we implement it?
• The project leader in ENERGA Group is ENERGA BIO Ltd
• Due to the extensive scope of the programme, we assume that
mainly investment projects with installed electrical capacity from
500 kWe to 2 MWe, and possibly larger based on additional
analysis, will be suitable for the programme.
• Our preference is currently for projects with capacity from 1 MWe
to 2 MWe.
• In future, we plan the development of small biogas plants with
capacity of below 1 MWe.

6. What we offer to our biomass partners?
• Energa is a strategic investor (capital investor) in biogas plants
construction projects.
• We guarantee the purchase of electricity.
• We guarantee the purchase of certificates of origin.
• We provide organisational and legal assistance in the biogas plant
construction process.
• We provide technological and organisational consultancy in choosing
the most efficient technologies.
• Our investments are based on Project Finance Structure
