The Bankstown Women Health Centre provides a variety of counseling, medical, and wellness services. Clients seeking counseling for child sexual abuse present with complex trauma issues that impact their treatment, such as difficulty regulating emotions, irregular attendance, questioning the need for counseling, intellectual disabilities, domestic violence risks, co-occurring mental health conditions, and harmful cultural beliefs. The therapists aim to build rapport and safety, proceed at the client's pace, and use supervision to address challenges like time management, absences, readiness assessments, countertransference, and vicarious trauma.
