IMPLICATIONS OF ACCURATE SOURCE CHARACTERIZATION ON PERMITTING FOR THE 1-HOUR...Ron Petersen, PhD, CCM, FASHRAE
The 2013 EPA Draft SO2 NAAQS Designations Modeling Technical Assistance Document states that an accurate characterization of the modeled facility is critical. The document also says that that if the building information is not accurate, downwash will not be accurately accounted for in AERMOD. This presentation will discuss two generic facilities, one with a 31 m high long narrow solid building and a single stack that is 1.5 times the building height. The second facility has two 50 m high porous structures located near a single stack of the same height. Accurate building information was assembled for these two facilities and input into BPIP. The BPIP AERMOD input file was analyzed and the following problems were found: 1) building widths and/or lengths outside the range of AERMOD theory; and 2) the porous structures were assumed to be solid. In spite of inputting accurate site information, BPIP generated building dimensions for AERMOD input will not result in accurate predictions. Consequently, an EPA “Source Characterization” study was conducted where “Equivalent Building Dimensions” were defined that more accurately model the dispersion for these two sites. AERMOD was then run using the original BPIP determined inputs and the refined inputs based on a more accurate “Source Characterization.” With refined BPIP inputs, the maximum 1-hr concentrations decreased by factors of 2 to 3.5 Due to the stringent nature of the 1-hr NAAQS, clearly a more accurate source characterization study should be high on the list of refined modeling options.Javascript Exploitation

Spark is the widely used ETL tool for processing, indexing and ingesting data to serving stack for search. Milvus is the production-ready open-source vector database. In this talk we will show how to use Spark to process unstructured data to extract vector representations, and push the vectors to Milvus vector database for search serving.
Artificial Intelligence for XMLDevelopment
In the rapidly evolving landscape of technologies, XML continues to play a vital role in structuring, storing, and transporting data across diverse systems. The recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) present new methodologies for enhancing XML development workflows, introducing efficiency, automation, and intelligent capabilities. - 1. This poster contains the star names which is good as if someone likes a certain actor they can clearly see if they’re in this film and will watch it most likely. The background pictures show us it’s a superhero film as the weapons and use of future technology shows it is a hero vs. villain and action packed film. The dark colours portray evil and sadness therefore yet again showing this film is action packed. These colours also show fear within the characters. We also see fear with the facial expressions of the characters in this poster. The big writing clearly states what the film is. The way the writing has a gold outline and a patterned fill could show the importance of ‘Thor’ in the film. The way there is 2 characters that are enlarged in the centre of the poster shows these are the main characters and are also important.
- 2. The 2 main colours in this poster(red/orange and blue) are two opposite colours when it comes to film conventions. The blue, dark colour either shows light, fear, hope or holiness where as the red and orange portray fear and evil. In addition to this when the colours red and orange are together they’re usually associated with fire – evil. These colours all put together could shows the film involves a hero vs. villain fight This poster is quite simple in the way that all the main characters are put together in the centre. This could show the effect of superheroes when they all come together. The writing on this poster is quite bold therefore making it stand out. This is good as if you’re interested in X-Men or superheroes you can clearly see that it is X- Men and is about superheroes. I can also tell this is a superhero film as futuristic technology is quite a main convention of superhero films and this poster involves spaceships, robots and futuristic suits.
- 3. This film poster shows star names which is a convention of any movie poster.This poster is quite busy as it has a lot of characters and background images. This could confuse some people as there is a lot going on – too much to look at. I can see this is a superhero film as all the characters are muscly, and have some sort of weapon. This is a generalised convention of a superhero film as all the heroes have some sort of speciality and it’s clear in this poster whose speciality is what.The futuristic looks on this poster also show it is a superhero poster.
