1. Production Experiments

2. Process
I began with a black canvas and took a
fish from google images. I was
searching for a .png of a fish bending its
tail whilst swimming but this was the
best fish I could find at the moment

3. Process
I used text tool to write the title. I wanted
something simple and used a font that keeps
it tidy and not scruffy or ruins the look.

4. Process
I downloaded an image from google of under the ocean
but purposely left 2 black bars at the side and the fish
overhanging them to make it appear 3D

I took a lure off of google and used the lasso tool to
remove the white background. I was going to have
some fishing wire go around the fish but I found a
better picture and used that instead. I also included
some monologue about discarded fishing net to give
the idea of more to read inside

6. Process
I found a better image of a fish and once again had to use
the lasso tool to remove the background and have just
the fish left. I also removed the text because I felt it
wasn’t right

7. Process
Using the duplicate layer feature I got myself 2 fish with
half the effort. I mirrored the fish so they don’t look
exactly the same and moved it just above the other so
they fill more of the page

8. Process
Finally I added a barcode and some extra fish related
topics to fill in the void and make it appear is if there is
something worth reading about in the magazine

9. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
I will include the simplicity of few objects and people
and small amounts of text and words. I will include a
large and undisturbed, simple title at either the top of
the page of bottom of the page. I will be using a bright
background with a darker foreground or the other way
around.
