1. Hitler Youth members saluting while riding bicycles 
2. Soldiers in the Vietnam war 
3. Multiple men pouring alcohol during the Prohibition in the 1920’s 
What is the situation of the people in the photograph? Provide evidence from the photo 
that tells you this. 
1. It is possible that they are newly appointed members, because they display 
no insignia 
2. Soldiers in Vietnam in the late 60’s-70’s. It is obvious because of the 
backdrop & their marine greens. 
3. Men are pouring out Alcohol during the prohibition in the city while others look 
on 
What message do you think the photographer was trying to convey? 
1. Obedience

Why is this photograph important to history? 
1. It shows how far people can be manipulated by one person, so history isn’t 
repeated.
2. It is nostalgic to the time period, easy to point out. It will be a good example 
for writers to abide by when dramatizing the Vietnam War for entertainment 
purposes. 
3. It shows how a plan can backfire & only cause more illegal activity

2- Vietnam was the first war to have desegregated military units, its hot in vietnam, 
many of the soldiers depicted are shirtless, AK-47 was a weapon in use by the 
North Vietnamese. It is depicted here as a type of war momento. 
3- Possibly lawmen standing behind the men pouring alcohol, onlookers seem 
bummed & could’ve been patrons to a bar nearby, bartender pouring out alcohol
