Who is in the photograph?
1.Boys in the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) program. The only reason I know that for sure is due to
Professor Rutherford's Nazi History class.
2. Men who are most likely in Vietnam
3. A crowd of white men
What are they doing in the photograph?
1. They are riding their bikes while heil-ing to the Fuhrer
2. Simply taking a picture
3. Dumping out some form of liquid. I believe it to be alcohol during prohibition.
What message was the photographer trying to convey?
1. I am sure the original photographer was a German and a Nazi, and so they were trying to
convince the public that the children enjoy their lives as part of the Hitler Youth.
2. I believe they wanted to show that even with all the death around them, there is still life within
these young soldiers
3. Some people were happy about prohibition. The men dumping the supposed alcohol have
smiles on their faces.
Why is this photograph important to history?
1. To show how convincing and absolute Hitler’s brainwashing of the German people was.
2. It shows our soldiers over in Vietnam and shows our first display of sticking our noses where
they don’t belong.
3. The prohibition of alcohol was a foolish act for America and it is important to preserve that
history so it is not to repeat itself (hint hint wink wink marijuana prohibition).
What questions does the photograph raise?
1. How early did the Germans brainwash their people? What happened to those children who
were brainwashed after 1945?
2. Where in Vietnam are they? Did they survive the way?
3. Why are these men happy about prohibition? Did they profit from it somehow?

A. The boys are Hitler Youth judging by their clothes, salute, and Aryan features (facial
structure, light hair and eyes)
B. The photograph was taken in between 1933-1945
C. The boys are aged 14-18
2.
A. The men are in Vietnam judging by their surroundings and their weapons
B. Judging by their smiling faces and positive demeanor, they probably have not seen combat
C. The picture was taken late in the war because it is in color
3.
A. The photo was taken during the American prohibition of alcohol in the 1920’s
B. The men seem to be too happy to be pouring the liquid down the drain. I conclude that they
made a profit due to prohibition.
C. If they weren’t making a profit, then they lived their whole lives without alcohol. Lame.
