3. WHAT IS MICROFIBER?
Microfiber is the terminology used to describe ultra-fine manufactured fibers and the
name given to the technology of developing these fibers. The fabrics made from
these extra-fine fibers provide a superior hand, and incredible softness that come in
cloth, towel, Mop, and many customizes application such as bath robe, baby towel
etc. Many definitions about microfiber yarn, but mostly saying in general term that,
yarn which is less than 1 denier.
The name microfiber refers to the technology of developing ultra-fine fibers
measuring only 0.006mm in diameter which means 10 times finer than silk, 30 times
finer than cotton, 40 times finer than wool, and 100 times finer than human hair. Just
one pound of fibers could wrap around the earth's equator more than 10 times. The
diameter or fineness of a continuous or filament fiber—the lower the number, the
finer the fiber, which in turn is more effective for cleaning surfaces.
