Fire crack : A line shallow crack in the body not covered with glaze on the
visible surface of the product
Blister : A raised portion of the surface having the height or width greater
than 1 mm
Pinhole : A small hole in the glazed surface less than 0.5mm diameter
Speck : An area of contrasting colour less than 1mm maximum dimension.
(Speck less than 0.25mm maximum do not constitute a defect sufficient in
number to form a discolouration
Wavy finish (poor finish) : A defect in finish having the appearance of
numerous runs in the glaze, irregular or mottled finish
Warpage : A distortion of a part of an appliance which is designed to be
plane against the horizontal and vertical surface during the installation
process
Dunt : A hair line fracture extending through the body. (Dunts are caused
by strains up during the manufacturing process)
