Abstract
This project is about design and fabrication
modular wheel with sophisticated power source
and embedded control system.

Introduction
• In transportation we have developed quite a lot by the range of
hi-tech vehicles we have; still the importance of bicycle cannot
be neglected.
• Bicycle is popular in all groups because it is easy to handle by
its light weight, and do not cost money to operate as it does not
require fuel to run, still very efficient in small distant traveling.
• Similar to this, e-bike on the other hand is a modified version
of the same. An electronic bicycle (e-bike) is a bicycle that has
an electric drivetrain, involving a motor, a power source, a
motor controller, and a method of speed control.

• In this project, we have designed a retrofit
wheel which has all components (hub motor,
battery pack with battery management system
and controller) and main objective is designing
PCB intergating BMS and controlling circuit of
motor.

The above table shows the estimation of e-bike sold in each country. In India
only 70000 bike were sold which is very less by comparing with population.
Even though now the usage of e-bikes is increased but commercialisation of
e-bike is yet to begin. This motivates me to design and fabricate a retrofit
electric bicycle.
