The document discusses disruptive innovations in education and their implications for school leadership. It notes that personalized learning is a disruptive innovation that will change the existing K-12 education model. It warns that good schools may disappear if they do not understand and adapt to the "natural laws" of disruptive innovations. It advises that to survive, schools must structure themselves accordingly and should not wait for online learning to become "good enough" before implementing it, but rather start with underserved student groups and use new metrics of success.

30,000 iPads: A Licence to Thrill - 7th Wave ConferenceLynnae Rankine
The University of Western Sydney embarked on a strategy to blend all its programs in 2012. Within that it decided to provide all students and all staff with iPads. The magnitude and the speed of the iPad deployment provided huge challenges to all sections of the university, especially IT and learning and teaching. It also challenged the prevailing orthodoxy of on campus lectures and classes and central controlled application usage. This bold initiative has stretched people to the limit, fermented a creative environment and on most measures has gone surprisingly well. Learn of the how’s, the outcomes, as well as some of
the dramas along the way.

Offering Students a Spectrum of Online Learning Experiences: featuring Jeffco...Blackboard
In 2006, Jeffco Public Schools in Colorado was looking for a way to address the staggering number of students that were failing classes as well as provide options for students that wanted to learn in a way that modeled their digital lives. The district also wanted to expand educational options for the hundreds of students that were leaving the district each year to learn online elsewhere.
In order to meet these needs, Jeffco Public Schools turned to Blackboard to expand educational offerings with online courses.
Jeffco Public Schools shares how Blackboard software helped accomplish the following:
Develop a five-year road map for online learning,
Address the districts withdrawal and failure rate,
Provide online learning opportunities without students having to leave their school,
Launch a statewide online school and,
Use online learning as a vehicle for organizational change.

Search Engine Optimization For Traditional MarketersVanessa Bright
Traditional marketers have many misconceptions about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I tried to explain these misconceptions many times and often found myself an interpreter between marketing and IT. This presentation is specifically created for traditional marketers; it uses the most easy to explain approach from my experience and does not include any technical nuances.

Academic excellence vs. professional excellenceAbhipsha Mishra
Most students who excel in their academics don’t necessarily excel in their profession. For example; most CEOs are not necessarily toppers from the best B-schools. Why most often academic excellence does not translate into professional excellence? Where is the gap? Is it in the curriculum, system, corporate set up or somewhere else? How can we bridge the gap?
This session is aimed at managers with responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of online learning and teaching. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic colleges have been forced to make an abrupt shift to remote learning, often existing in makeshift offices. Join us as we examine the challenges that this new environment presents and the lessons learned thus far from approaches developed in other UK nations and further afield.
We will share our thoughts on what leaders have learned about how to manage their institution during this difficult time and how they are addressing the challenges now and anticipating those in the future. Colleagues will be invited to join the discussion, raise questions and contribute examples from their own experience.
