ScoutBook Advancement Sync
• ALL units with active Scoutbook subscriptions have now been
invited to the Scoutbook Advancement Record Sync with
ScoutNet. The Scoutbook Unit Admins have been notified
and given instructions on how to activate the sync.
• All units must be activated by February 28, 2018.
• The user guide on activating the sync is at:
http://bit.ly/syncadv If you have any questions about the
sync please send an email to: Scoutbooksync@gmail.com.
• Starting February 28, 2018 units with active Scoutbook
subscriptions will only be able to approve advancements for
Scouts who are in the advancement sync.

• 1st Annual Day of Service hosted by
Occoneechee Council on
Saturday, May 12, 2018.
• All Scouting units are invited to join
the challenge to give 100,000 hours of
service to our communities.

some basic computer knowledge build and maintain

2018 Friends of Scouting
It costs the Occoneechee Council $25
per month or $300 per year for each
Scout to bring a great Scouting
experience to our youth. This year,
Highlander District has been asked to
support 167 Scouts.

Service Hour Reporting
• Who: All Scouting groups are encouraged to participate in this service project
initiative.
• What: This is a time for all Scouting groups to conduct meaningful, visible
service projects of their choice in their communities. You are encouraged to
discuss and choose your projects with the help of your Scouts, committee, and
chartered organization.
• Where: Service projects can be done for your chartered organization or for the
cause of your choice. Projects done in collaboration with other organizations are
highly recommended.
• When: Projects may be conducted at any time.
• Why: Scouting was founded on the premise of doing a Good Turn daily.
Community service is very important in the character-building process and, as
Scouts, we have made the commitment to give back to our communities.

available for those who campout.

Red Cross offers Service Hours
Troops and Crews – the Red Cross needs your help!
• The Red Cross installs smoke alarms in poorer
neighborhoods – they are looking for volunteers to
train and do the installs (Service Hours!)
• The Red Cross is willing to offer some classes in
“Hands only” CPR to Troops and Crews at no charge
Leaders – get in touch with The Red Cross if you are
interested in your Troop or Crew helping with installs
of smoke detectors!

  • 3. Ceremonies Team The Order of the Arrow has a strong tradition of strengthening the Scouting Movement through it’s meaningful ceremonies.   • 12. ScoutBook Advancement Sync • ALL units with active Scoutbook subscriptions have now been invited to the Scoutbook Advancement Record Sync with ScoutNet. The Scoutbook Unit Admins have been notified and given instructions on how to activate the sync. • All units must be activated by February 28, 2018. • The user guide on activating the sync is at: http://bit.ly/syncadv If you have any questions about the sync please send an email to: Scoutbooksync@gmail.com. • Starting February 28, 2018 units with active Scoutbook subscriptions will only be able to approve advancements for Scouts who are in the advancement sync.

  • 17. Unit Websites • Highlander District is now able to offer free web space to Highlander units.   • 18. 2018 Friends of Scouting It costs the Occoneechee Council $25 per month or $300 per year for each Scout to bring a great Scouting experience to our youth. This year, Highlander District has been asked to support 167 Scouts. If you haven’t signed up for your unit FoS presentation, please see Erin tonight. Service Hour Reporting • Who: All Scouting groups are encouraged to participate in this service project initiative. • What: This is a time for all Scouting groups to conduct meaningful, visible service projects of their choice in their communities. You are encouraged to discuss and choose your projects with the help of your Scouts, committee, and chartered organization. • Where: Service projects can be done for your chartered organization or for the cause of your choice. Projects done in collaboration with other organizations are highly recommended. • When: Projects may be conducted at any time. • Why: Scouting was founded on the premise of doing a Good Turn daily. Community service is very important in the character-building process and, as Scouts, we have made the commitment to give back to our communities. SwampDogs Baseball • Our hometown baseball team is hosting a Scout Night on June 29th. • Tickets are $4 per youth ticket for troop units of 10 or more when purchased in advance or $5 at the door. • Adults accompanying Scouts are $8. • Camping available in the outfield. Red Cross offers Service Hours Troops and Crews – the Red Cross needs your help! • The Red Cross installs smoke alarms in poorer neighborhoods – they are looking for volunteers to train and do the installs (Service Hours!) • The Red Cross is willing to offer some classes in “Hands only” CPR to Troops and Crews at no charge Leaders – get in touch with The Red Cross if you are interested in your Troop or Crew helping with installs of smoke detectors!
