Merit Badge Councilor Renewal
• All registered Merit Badge Councilors must renew
their registration in the month of April.
• Councilors need to ensure that their Youth
Protection is current.
• Renewal forms are available on the council website
under the “Resources” tab.
• Turn completed forms in to Tiffany Adams at the
council office.
Unit Websites
• Highlander District is now able to offer free web
space to Highlander units. (that’s right, free – it won’t
cost you anything but time)
• You will get your own sub-domain (e.g.
YourTroop.HighlanderDistrict.org)
• Units should designate a Unit Webmaster who has
some basic computer knowledge build and maintain
their site.
• Contact Zeek for details on how to get started.

On-line Boy Scout Leader Training
• The wait is over! After nearly two years of
development, all new training for Boy Scout leaders
went live this month.
• There will be tracks for:
– Scoutmaster / ASM
• (IOLS will still be required live training)
– Merit Badge Councilor
– Troop Committee
• These courses can be found in the BSA’s online
learning center along with all of the Cub Scout,
Exploring, Venturing, and Sea Scouting courses that
are already available at My.Scouting.Org
Lego Camp
• Highlander District is running it’s
first ever Lego Camp this summer
for Cub Scouts!
• Lunch will be provided
• Date: July 26-28
• Time: 9am – 3pm
• Cost: $60

When: June 19-23, 2017 ~ Save the Date!
Monday-Thursday; 8:00 am-4:00 pm (aftercare until 5:30 pm for $6 daily)
Friday 8:00 am -1:00 pm (no aftercare available)
Why: To Have FUN!
Registration: online only at http://www.ocscouts.org this spring
Scouts participate in the following activity centers:
Archery, BB, Slingshot, Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Games, STEM, Webelos
specific activities, and more!
Each scout must bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch.

Red Cross offers Service Hours
Troops and Crews – the Red Cross needs your help!
• The Red Cross installs smoke alarms in poorer
neighborhoods – they are looking for volunteers to
train and do the installs (Service Hours!)
• The Red Cross is willing to offer some classes in
“Hands only” CPR to Troops and Crews at no charge
Leaders – get in touch with The Red Cross if you are
interested in your Troop or Crew helping with installs
of smoke detectors!
