Duties and responsibilities
I was a live in PCA for an individual who had a stroke. My duties were cooking, cleaning and getting
groceries among other day to day activities which could not be performed by the client on their own.
I would do the driving and take the client to appointments and wherever the client would need to go.

Highway Traffic Control Maintainer
Salary: $20-$30/Hr. Full Time approximately 80 hrs/wk
Duties and responsibilities
My duties as a maintainer mainly entailed the safe flow of traffic through a major construction zone.
Assess the movement and operation of equipment and adjust traffic accordingly.
Ensure the adherence of all safety regulations and stipulations of the State of Wyoming regarding road
construction.
Planning and placement of all signage such as “Be prepared to stop”, “Flagger” and “Trucks Entering”.
Removal and teardown of signage when no longer needed.
Placement and setup of traffic control devices such as barrels, cones, “candlesticks” in accordance with
Wyoming Department of Transportation stipulations.
Removal and tear down of traffic control devices when no longer needed.
Placement of and instruction to all flaggers in accordance of what the present situation entailed.
Communicate with the construction foremen and operators to coordinate operations to ensure we were on the
same page.
Hold pre-shift meetings to make plans, correct problems and inform everyone of their duties for the shift.
Make sure the flaggers are communicating properly and performing duties correctly at all times.
Ensure the flaggers are in good working condition and in good health since it is a tough job.
Make sure the flaggers have their breaks
Movement and placement of light plants for night time operations since it was a 24 hour job.
Setup, teardown and reset traffic devices for different operations in a timely manner, we were always under
strict time limits set by the WYDOT.
Ensure that we were within our time limits for traffic wait times; we were limited to 20 min unless there were
special circumstances.
Facilitate total overnight road closures occasionally.
Ensure the safety of all traffic and employees during blasts, such as doing a final drive through to be sure
nobody is in the danger zone during a blast.
Setup, movement, programming and maintenance of VMS boards (Visual Message Sign).
In bad weather make sure the road is sanded and passable.
Equipment operation occasionally, haul truck, skid steer and mini hoe mainly.
General labor when needed.
Flagging when there were not enough flaggers.
Installation and maintenance of Silt Fencing for erosion control.
Ensure that all devices are in up and in good condition at all times; they get run and blown over quite
frequently.
I had the overriding authority and the duty to shut down the entire project if I deemed the situation not safe for
employees, the public or both.

Duties and Responsibilities
My duties as a flagger were mainly stop or slow flagging traffic through a road construction zone.
I worked for two different companies during the time frame the duties varied little.
I was to hold traffic for the pilot car on many projects.
Maintain communication with other flaggers and pilot car drivers when necessary.
Assess any changing of situation and adjust operations accordingly.
Inform traffic of situation ahead and any other pertinent information.
Occasionally drive the pilot vehicle.
General Labor such as moving/picking up traffic control devices as needed.
Setting up of signs around my flagger station.
Since the projects tended to be remote and very large I often had to reposition myself and change operations
without directives from my supervisor. The operators, primary contractors or the Wyoming Dept. of
Transportation would let me know what was changing and have me figure out the best solution and set myself
and my station up accordingly.
Keep in constant communication w/the operators and truck drivers when the current operation is changing.
