The Association of Partners for Public Lands (APPL) held its 2011 stakeholders meeting. APPL works to foster stewardship and appreciation of public lands through partnerships. It provides services like information sharing, education programs, and government representation to its 83 member organizations. Information will be sent out later this summer with more information and the online submission process. What’s done well in the past are packages that incorporate a specialized experience and include extra amenities such as lodging, gift certificates to restaurants/events/APPL member stores, etc… Consider including a year membership for an individual or family that encourages continued involvement after the auction experience. Also high-quality crafts, jewelry and souvenirs that can be used as gifts often due well since the auction is held before the holiday giving season.
