SOUNDS AND SYLLABLES                                      skill: phonological awareness/discovering sounds

Older children can say their own names and parents of younger children say their names for them. Say name,
"Kendra.” Then say it while clapping the syllables, "Ken-dra." Then whisper it. Then “hooray” it, “Kendra!! YAY!!.”
