This document outlines an assessment for a student to demonstrate their skills in working effectively and sustainably in the construction industry. Assessment Task Instructions for Students
This unitof competency specifies the skills and knowledgerequired to work effectively and sustainably in the construction
industry.
The unit is suitablefor those with basic skillsand knowledge undertakingroutine work tasks under the direction of more
experienced workers.
All equipment selected must be in good working order, and you must wear correct PPE throughout the entire task.You
must followall safety instructionsthroughoutthe task.If at any time you aredeemed to be unsafe the assessorwill stop
your assessment,and this will becounted as your firstattempt.
Note:
You are required to take photos of yourself undertaking this practical task.
This evidence will be added to the eLearn drop box where you teacher/ assessor will be able to mark your
assessment.
Assessment range and conditions:
Assessment will beconducted in simulated work environment at CIT Bruce under teacher supervision atall times during
your normal CIT day.If at any stage the assessor deems the assessmentto be unsafeit will bestopped. Access to all
resources,manual and standards is permitted. All mobilephones are to be switch off duringthe assessment.You will have
access to techniques, procedures, information,resources and aids which is normally beavailableon the worksite.
Materials provided: All tools and equipment used in a paintingand decoratingactivity will besupplied

Information for students: You may have two (2) attempts for this assessment.
 If your first attempt is notsuccessful,your teacher will discuss your results with you and will arrangea second
attempt.
 If your second attempt is not successful,you will berequired to re-enrol in this unit.
Only one re-assessmentattempt will begranted for each assessmentitem.
