2. Occupational safety and health (OSH) also commonly referred to as
occupational health and safety (OHS) or workplace health and safety
(WHS) is an area concerned with the safety, health and welfare of people
engaged in work or employment. The goals of occupational safety and
health programs include to foster a safe and healthy work environment.
3. USE A POWER STRIP WITH SURGE
PROTECTOR
is a device that is made to protect electronic equipment
from unwanted power surges or "spikes."
4. MAKE SURE ALL POWER IS OFF
Always power off the computer and unplug
the computer before working on it.
6. Be careful with tools that may cause short circuit.
Always ground or discharge yourself before touching
any part of the computer.
ALWAYS GROUND
YOURSELF
TOUCH METAL PARTS
TO AVOID STATIC
7. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED
Take away any liquid near your working area
to avoid getting electrocuted or accidentally
damaging computer parts.
8. DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE
FORCE
if things don't quite slip into place.
9. KEEP YOUR WORK AREA
CLEAN AND ORDER
Clean the area before and after using it
to maintain sanitation and prevent
accidents.
12. Hold the components on the edges
and do not touch the Integrated Circuit
(IC) parts.
13. Always wear personal protective
equipment’s (PPE)
in accordance with the organization's OHS procedures and practices.
A traditional Filipino
computer technician
wears t-shit, jeans
and rubber shoes
14. Make sure that the pins are properly
aligned
when connecting a cable connector.
18. 5’s
1. Seiri: Sort–
Clearly distinguish needed items from u
nneeded and eliminate the latter.
2. Seiton: Straighten/Set in Place –
Keep needed items in the correct
place to allow for
easy and immediate retrieval
3. Seiso: Shine –
Keep the workplace neat and clean
4. Seiketsu: Standardize –
The method by which sort, straighten,
shine are made habitual.
5. Shitsuke: Sustain –
Maintain established procedures
21. ESD
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) is the sudden flow of electricity between two
electrically charged objects caused by contact, an electrical short, or
dielectric breakdown. A buildup of static electricity can be caused by
tribocharging or by electrostatic induction. The ESD occurs when differently-
charged objects are brought close together or when the dielectric between
them breaks down, often creating a visible spark.
22. ANTI STATIC
WRIST STRAP
An antistatic wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or
ground bracelet is an antistatic device used
to safely ground a person working on very
sensitive electronic equipment, to prevent
the buildup of static electricity on their
body, which can result in electrostatic
discharge (ESD).
23. ANTI STATIC BAG
An antistatic bag is a bag used for shipping
(usually electronic) components, which are
prone to damage caused by electrostatic
discharge.
24. ANTI STATIC
GARMENT
Anti-static garments or anti-static clothing
is required to prevent damage to electrical
components or to prevent fires and
explosions when working
25. ANTI STATIC
AGENT
An antistatic agent is a compound used for
treatment of materials or their surfaces in
order to reduce or eliminate buildup of
static electricity.
