4. Novel Discussion Groups
• 1) Take turns orally summarizing what happened in the
section you read.
• 2) Let Nikki know you are ready for the questions.
• 3) Take notes about/answer the questions – the quiz will
have the same questions (but fewer), and you can use
your notes.
5. Summary Scramble
• 1) Number the paragraphs in your book. (pgs. 45-47) There are 11.
• 2) Organize your colored papers by paragraph. (example – find all
of the papers for paragraph 1, 2, etc.)
• 3) Choose the best 3 summary sentences for each paragraph.
• 4) Tape the best 3 summary sentences to your poster. Put the best
on top and the 3rd best on the bottom.
• 5) Complete the summary analysis handout.
