This year the Forum will focus on creativity, jobs and local development. We will examine how localities can support culture and creative industries as a source of knowledge and job creation and how the creative industry can act as a powerful driving force areas such as tourism, urban regeneration, and social inclusion.

6. The Project
Fondazione di Venezia is going to build on this area (about 9.000 mq):
• the permanent exhibition, that exhibits historical materials relating to epochal
changes in the 20th Century in culture, urban planning, economy, society and
environment, in a local, regional, national and international context;
• an exhibition centre to think about contemporaneity;
• a Multimedia Library to consult videos, audio-visual and radio materials, film and
photographic archives;
• an Auditorium for conferences, meeting, concerts and performances;
• a bookshop/museumshop, a cafeteria/restaurant;
• an innovation retail center.
Total investment amount: about 110 million euros

The architectural design brings shape and order to the three-way chronological
approach that underpins M9, past, present, and future, dividing them into dedicated
spaces.

M900, knowledge of the past
M900 is a permanent exhibition (2,800 m2 on two floors) focusing on the major social, economic,
urban, environmental and cultural changes witnessed by 20th-century Italy
MAMA, understanding the present
- a 200-seat Auditorium for meetings, talks, conferences, debates, films, readings, entertainment and
performance art
- a 20-station Mediatheque accessing audiovisual, photographic and text material in electronic
formats
- a 70-seat Classroom for educational and training activities

M000 is an exhibition space (1,400 m2 on the top floor) for temporary exhibitions on the following
themes: science, technology, ecology, urban planning, architecture and design, communication and
new media, the creative industries
