QR (Quick Response) Codes• Trademarked matrix (two-dimensional) barcodes• Invented (Japan, 1994) by Toyota’s Denso Wave to track vehicles during manufacture• Fast to read• Large storage capacity• URLs, V-cards, text, etc• Trackable“Unlike the old bar code that was designed to be mechanically scanned by anarrow beam of light, the QR code is detected as a 2-dimensional digital image bya semiconductor image sensor and is then digitally analyzed by a programmedprocessor. The processor locates the three distinctive squares at the corners ofthe image, and normalizes image size, orientation, and angle of viewing. Thesmall dots are then converted to binary numbers and validity checked with anerror-correcting code.” (Wikipedia) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code
