3. The labour market figures in the airport area of BER are excellent for the last 10 years.
‒ Actually, Berlin and Brandenburg are well above the national average, the level around the airport region lies
under the Federal and State average. Actual huge demands for jobs in care for the elderly, metal processing
and logistics.
‒ Unemployment rate in County Dahme-Spreewald fell from 12 % in 2005 over 7,5% in 2011 to 6% in 2015.

Knapp 10 Mio. Passagiere und gut 10.000 Beschäftigte 1993.
Dieses Jahr übertreffen wir die 27-Mio-Passagiermarke. Und wir haben über 21.000 Arbeitsplätze. Zahl der Arbeitsplätze also seit Beginn der Erhebung VERDOPPELT.
Seit wir die Daten erheben Wachstum. Sie können auch die durch die Anschläge vom 11. September 2001 entstandene Delle in der Entwicklung erkennen.
Die Formel ist ganz einfach: Mehr Passagiere führen zu mehr Beschäftigten an den Airports. Je mehr Passagiere von und nach Berlin fliegen, desto besser für den Arbeitsmarkt der Region. Und dabei reden wir noch nicht von Kaufkrafteffekten und sonstigen Folgewirkungen in der Region.
