King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) is a new city being developed in Saudi Arabia as a global business and economic hub. KAEC aims to establish itself as a globally competitive business destination through sustainable development and building communities. It has direct access to major transportation networks like highways, a new seaport capable of handling 4 million shipping containers annually, and future rail connections. KAEC plans to attract a growing population of over 40,000 residents by 2020 through the development of coastal communities, commercial and retail centers, tourism attractions, and world-class education and healthcare facilities.
